I signed up for a promotional digital subscription for $1 on April 15, 2023, and canceled the same day so that I would not be charged for a renewal. Greeley Tribune began to charge me in October 2023 $14.99/month for my canceled account. I tried multiple times to call the number associated with the charge and could not get through. After researching I was able to find a different number to call and request a refund for the $74.95 charged to my card (an overseas call center). They refused the refund and said they would "escalate the complaint."

Customer stated that she did not leave a message when she called the contact number on the credit card statement: ************ on 2 different days. There was no indication that she was trying to contact us.

Customer called ************ on 3/11/24 and again did not leave a message. She was contacted as a result of a call back to a missed call.

Customer had unsubscribed her email address on April 15th 2023

Customer could have refuted the charge through her credit card company but did not.

      This is a non-refundable subscription.

I am rejecting this response because:

I did talk to someone after several attempts, one person in a foreign call center and one person locally. I shared my concern that the enrollment practices are fraudulent, that if I choose to not receive marketing through email they are still required to inform me when they up the subscription. I attempted to cancel my subscription the day I enrolled through the promotional amount. This is poor business practice. They said they would see what they could do and contact me again, they did not contact me again. Several companies would make an exception. Regardless of the companies policies, this is very poor business practice and unbelievable that they would go to such lengths to get any amount out of would-be customers. I will attempt to go through my card, that was not mentioned or discussed on the call.

      Regards,

This is a non-refundable subscription.  We will not be able to refund 5 payments of $14.99 each for a total of $74.95 as you have requested.  On rare occasions, a refund can be made for up to 90 days. We are willing to refund 3 payments of $14.99 each for a total of $44.97.

I subscribed to their online paper during a promotion. I cancelled it before the promotion period was over. However, I discovered that they had charged my credit card for the next month that morning, even tough my subscription wasn't up yet. I was told today that they offer no refunds, even though I no longer have access to their e-paper, because I subscribed originally through a promotion. How can they charge me for something I will not receive?

      Business response

Refund will be issued onto the credit card used for the transaction.

Once again the Greeley Tribune is throwing their trash on my property. This will be the fifth time in the last three years that I have filed a complaint about them dumping their trash on my property. They always claim it is because of a new driver. They can’t even deliver the news papers to the store on time or even at all, Tues. June 6, but they always seem to be able to throw their trash where it is not wanted.

I am a subsciber to the Daily Greeley Tribune. I have prepaid of for delivery of the paper which the company requires in order to get the paper delivered to my house. I wrote the Tribune a check which they cashed yet I do not get my paper delivered to me as promised. When I call there Customer Service number they tell me there is still a chance they may deliver wait untill later to call if I don't get it. When I call back they say that they I have waited to long and no one can bring me a paper but they will credit me. I have never seen a credit. Then I have to go out and buy a paper. So I am paying for the paper twice. This is wrong, wrong, wrong. Mostly just a scam against the ederly. Take our money, make us chase down the service and product, promise credit we never receive. I am 100% surw that if my check would not have cleared the bank they would have the rescources to take me to collections just not to deliver my paper.

New carrier on the route will be informed that this address must be delivered on time and on the walkway to the house.

Customer is okay if the paper is late, just wants to be sure to get the paper.

I'm set up on auto pay and feel stuck I don't want to pay a fee to my bank to stop the payment and tired of paying for something I'm not getting.

Customer was contacted.  Her service issues were addressed and will be relayed to the carrier and District Manager.  She wants to continue receiving the paper so has changed her mind about cancelling the subscription.

My issue is with the circulation department for the Greeley Tribune. The newspaper is to be delivered 4 days a week (Sunday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday). Their goal, according to their website, is to have the paper delivered by 6:00 a.m. during the week and by 7:00 a.m. on weekends. This has not happened at all during the last several months. I have called the circulation department each day my paper was to be delivered. My first call is usually around 7:45 a.m. Next call around 9:00 a.m. Last call usually around 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. When I finally get to talk to someone, they usually tell me they will have a newspaper delivered to me sometime that day. NO concern about the client paying for a morning delivery so I can read the paper over my breakfast as I have done for years. Several times the paper is not even delivered until the next day, or not at all. If it is not delivered at all, they tell me they will credit my account. I don't want credit!!! I want what I paid for and that is a morning newspaper delivered by 7:00 a.m.. If I ask to speak to a supervisor, they tell me they don't know their name. Or if I ask to have a supervisor call me back so we can discuss my concerns, they never call me back.

A message was left for the customer explaining that the carrier and District Manager will be notified about the late delivery. My phone number was left for him to contact about service.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:  After Ann from the Tribune left a message, which would have been on either Thursday or Friday, 9/1/22 or 9/2/22, I received NO paper at all on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.  I did leave a message for Ann stating what happened.  As of this email, I have received no response from the Greeley Tribune, nor a newspaper for the days in question.  So, as you can see, outside of the phone call from Ann, nothing has changed.  In fact, it got worse due to the fact that I did not even get a newspaper.

      Regards,
