Meyers skidmore sanded, filled, and refinished our floors 8/19/2022. Additionally, they helped to set our humidifier with our furnace to take care of the floors before leaving. When we returned we discovered they blew a fuse in an outlet without telling us. They have since fixed it and were very responsive about this. However less than a year later [i began contacting them in July 2023] we are developing large cracks where the filling has come out. The then said they cannot simply fill cracks once they develop. After a lot of back and forth they said once we got our humidity under control [something they set before leaving] they would provide an estimate for a refinish of the entire floor. The floor lasted less than one year after previously lasting nearly 10.there is no chance we would work with them again and if we need the floor refinished as they said i would like a refund so we can find someone elseBusiness response

Hi BBB,
I am sorry to hear he feels this way. *** is a previous client of mine who hired us to refinish his hardwood floors in 2022. I did not install new wood, this was existing in his home. We have tried to resolve this issue over several months via email and he is not pleased with our repair offers. We did complete his project with a full refinish and 3 coats of flooring finish applied. We did not set any humidifier in his home. We are not a licensed HVAC company. We did notify him as to what setting it should be at to help maintain the best possible outcome with his natural product flooring. Once the job has been completed, it is up to the client to maintain a consistent environment in their home. That is not the responsibility of Meyer Skidmore & Company. A refund will not be issued for work completed and non-consistent environment in someone's home. We have been very responsive with *** to try and solve this gaping issue and he has exceeded his warranty at this time.

I am rejecting this response because:Contrary to what you indicated about advising us on the humidity within our house - ********** did in fact set our humidifier after he and I talked with ***** on optimal settings before they left.
as far as "offering to resolve" our issue there has been no offer to help us deal with the cracks that appeared within 1 year.
as far as a warranty - I contacted meyers skidmore less than 1 year after the job was completed. there is no way the "warranty" was expired by the time i contacted them. Additionally, ***** had been less than responsive with phone calls and emails unanswered for weeks at multiple times. If felt as if i was getting the run around and they were trying to play. out the clock on any warranty.
i requested a refund because we need our floor refinished based on the lack of quality in their work. Their only proposed resolution was to refinish our floor at our cost. that is not helpful since what we paid for did not last.
