After my vehicle was rear-ended on June 30, 2023, I chose this auto body shop for the damages to my 2010 ***** ***** which also included suspension work. The owner promised a lifetime warranty and boasted that he was "a man of his word." When I retrieved my vehicle on July 21, 2023, I immediately experienced a pronounced brake pedal pulsation which I had never witnessed before the accident. Instantly, I returned to the auto body shop and shared my concern. The owner claimed that I probably was experiencing a bit of rust on my front rotors and advised me to return after the weekend if the pulsation persisted. Upon returning on July 24th, he was unhappy to see me. Along with the brake issue, I also pointed out a crooked wheel weight to which he grabbed a hammer and pounded against until it became dislodged. Since then, he has refused to grant me a post-repair inspection although my insurance adjuster also has requested this inspection on my behalf. The brake pulsation is still strong and I am scared to drive my vehicle. The damages to my vehicle totaled $6,583.03 and the shop was paid in a timely manner by the insurance company and myself.Business response

In the 38 years that we have been in business, we have never had a complaint. Ms. ***** is just one of those customers that you cannot please no matter what you do.
She obviously had no trust in us and did not want us to try to correct her minor pulsing in her brakes. Since she stated that ******* ***** had done work on her vehicle before we suggested that she have them inspect the repairs.as all of the suspension parts were purchased from ******* *****.
On July 31, she went to ******* ***** along with her insurance adjuster. I have attached a copy of their report. Even after resurfacing her front brake rotors. There was still a slight vibration noted. As a good faith gesture, we reimbursed her $49.95 to balance her rear tires.
We feel that we did all we could to resolve the situation. She went there with a slight vibration and left with a slight vibration. Nothing was found to be done incorrectly.
Still on August 23, she filed a complaint against us.
Sincerely,
George F***

Customer response

I am responding to the letter that I received from the BBB two days ago. It just arrived in the mail on Thursday, October 26th, so my response should still be considered prompt. The owner of Ultimate Auto Body named George F*** was not honest in his response to my complaint. On July 21st and on July 24th, I pleaded with him at his repair shop to properly repair my vehicle. I was in tears as I explained to him that my car was in mint condition prior to the accident and that the brake pulsation was a new issue. I begged him repeatedly to care about my safety and to help me. He outright refused since he had already received payment for the repair. I explained to him that the pulsation did not rest with the front brakes since they were only a year old and that the issue had to be related to something in the rear suspension on which he had performed the work. My vehicle was struck on the passenger side rear quarter panel, so the front of my vehicle (along with the front brakes) were never damaged by the collision. After my several visits to ******* *****, it was discovered that my theory was correct after all. The culprit of the severe brake pulsation was a wheel bearing that Mr. F*** should have discovered and repaired had he given me the opportunity to return my car to him.
Mr. George F*** was not interested in keeping his promises to me nor did he have any interest in doing the right thing. His convenient excuse is to blame me for his incompetence. If he had restored my vehicle to pre-accident form, I would have been elated and grateful to him. He was the one who left me in this scary predicament and owes me the apology. My insurance appraiser also contacted Mr. F*** and asked him to return my vehicle to his shop for a post-repair inspection. Mr. F*** denied the appraiser that opportunity as well. At this point, Mr. F*** needs to hold himself accountable for his behavior and refresh his memory with the true details of my complaint.
At this point, I was hoping that Mr. F*** would offer me an apology. Instead, he is acting as a bully who instead points fingers at his victim. I sincerely feel sorry for him and his lack of conscience for what he did to me. I am completely justified in contacting the BBB with these concerns.
