  We hired Mike's Plumbing Services to install energy-efficient heat pump and AC system and convert our existing one zone system to two zones for the 1st and 2nd floors. Mike inspected our existing system and provided the estimate for both jobs. We signed the estimate/contract on July 26, 2023. He and his team started working the next day and we paid 60% of the agreed amount. They completed the job on Monday (July 31, 2023) and requested the remaining payment. We trusted their word that the job was done properly and thoroughly tested. We paid by check. When Mike's team left, we turned on the system on the 2nd floor and realized that it wasn't blowing the air on the 2nd floor, instead it was blowing air in 2 rooms on the 1st floor and one bathroom on the 2nd floor. We reported the issue to Mike right away. He said that the issue was with our existing flex and he "couldn't see through the walls" when he provided the estimate, the estimate was only to install the part to split the system. He was willing to give us another estimate to make the zoning work correctly by floors. The estimate/contract that we signed clearly included zoning by floors as we requested and talked to him about. We asked him to come over and take a look that the zoning job was not done properly, he said he would come in a week. When I followed up in a week, he told me he could come the following week. On the day that he said he would come, he didn't. I followed up again. Mike said he doesn't work for free and can give us the estimate to fix the zoning. I explained that we already paid for zoning and it's not working properly and needs to be fixed. Then he stopped responding to messages. We filed complaint with the Connecticut Consumer Protection Agency 2 months ago but the case is pending. We started using heat pump for heating and in addition to zoning issue, it blows heat with different force in different rooms and temperature varies greatly between bedrooms (hot in one and cold in another).

  I wanted to let you know that the issue, I filed complaint with BBB, was remediated by Mike Plumbing Services about a week ago - he took out the zoning component to make it a single zone system and refunded the sum he charged for installing it originally (3K). There was some pressure on him from the ** ******** ********** so he decided to reach out to me and "make things right". I looked for my case online to close it but wasn't successful. Could you please assist.
