East Coast Auto Sales & Service Center is the absolute worst place to finance or buy a vehicle from. They sell Lemons and refuse payments if you fall behind due to medical issues (or whatever personal reason, we all have them) then they intentionally issue a repo order to charge a $500 repossession charge and tow! They refuse to work with you and try to play the ladder scheme when they own the company. Spoke to the sexist owners several times and my fiancé was behind close to $1,000 before repossession. I was only a couple hundred behind in October and they came at 3am with no warning after I let them know that I would resume payment in a couple of days and my fiancé offered payment first and they refused. They did not wait for payment and repossessed knowing that I need my car for medical appointments for myself and my Autistic son. They are fully aware of medical situation and financial difficulties, they told my fiancé it was fine and "everyone falls behind" and just to keep in contact. Which we did. I have severe anxiety and after the repo I did not want to contact the sexist owner. I had my fiancé contact them. I fell behind again due to Christmas and me going to the hospital. We tried to resume payments and they refused any payments. A few days of trying to resume payments, they came and took my car again without warning in the middle of the night! (After they told my fiancé it was okay that we were a little behind because everyone falls behind sometimes) Every time I have had to deal with them, they were dismissive and had an attitude when the car is in my name and I make the payments. When it was my fiancé, their attitude was different. When my fiancé had his vehicle, no matter how far behind he was, their demeanor toward him was laid back and nicer. Also did not repo in the middle of the night or without warning.East Coast Auto Group, LLC Response

We apologize you feel the way you do. We attempted to work with you on BOTH times the car was repossessed. Between you and your fiancé, we were told MULTIPLE times that payments would be made, and MULTIPLE times you did not do what you said you were going to do. We tried to contact you multiple times via telephone, but our phone calls were never returned. You would only communicate via email, when it was convenient for you. We all have difficulties in our lives, but it is your responsibility as the owner of the vehicle to make the payments when they are due. We can only wait so long, especially after people do not follow through on what they say before we have to secure our asset. After the first repossession, both you and your fiancé were told that we could not be as lenient with late payments, and that you MUST be more on top of things. After that. you made 4 payments (3 on time, and one late), then made no payments. Your fiancé emailed to say he was making a payment a week late, then never actually made the payment, then five days later said he was getting a single payment together, and that was never made. Then TWO weeks later, we were asked to take ONE payment, which we tried to do, but the payment did not go through. At that time, we stated we can no longer accept a SINGLE payment, and that all payments due must now be made to prevent repossession. Those payments were not made, so we were forced to repossess again. You have been sent certified mail for what is required in order to retrieve the vehicle.Review from Joseph B

Hi ******* we aren't sure why you are leaving this review with no substance as to why you feel the way you do. You bought a car from us in April of 2022, and we have not heard from you since then. Have you had mechanical issues we were unaware of? If so, did you try to contact us regarding those issues? The only notes we have in our system is that when you purchased the vehicle, one of the rear seat head rests was missing, which we provided to you free of charge the day after you purchased the vehicle.Review from John L

Made a 3 hour trip to East Coast Auto to buy a ****** Was super excited and motivated. Fortunately, I brought my personal mechanic, because the Carfax did not disclose any accidents or problems. Car looked great from the outside. As soon as I popped the hood, my mechanic saw paint damage indicative of front end collision with frame repair. Engine bay was corroded up to the alternator. Flood damaged car. No wonder they weren't interested in my trade, despite it being newer/lower mileage. These guys buy salvage junk, and don't disclose major issues to unknowing suckers to pay for their fancy storefront. Run away!East Coast Auto Group, LLC Response

I apologize that the car was not what you were expecting... You came to look at a car that is 13 years old and unfortunately not every car is as brand new as what you were looking for. As we stated, the carfax did not show any accidents. A carfax is only as good as the information reported to it. If there is an accident that is not reported to police or insurance, there is no way of knowing its accident history. If you look at websites such as consumer reports, even they state that a carfax is only as good as the information shared. Every older car will have some corrosion on parts of the engine. There is no excessive rust, nothing structural, and is in overall good shape for a 13 year old vehicle. As far as your trade goes, you were asking for over retail value for your trade, even said that you knew you were high on what you wanted for it, explained other offers that you have already had for it, and we specifically told you to go take those other offers, as they were better than what we can offer you. I'm sorry we couldn't earn your business, but I don't feel that there is the need to badmouth us. We are very proud of our business and the vehicles that we sell even though they may not be up to your standards.Customer Response

There is nothing in my original review that indicated disatisfaction with my trade-in value. I specifically described the deceitful nature you present your vehicles. You made no mention whatsoever of any accidents the car had been in when we spoke over the phone prior to my trip to your shop. My mechanic has been working longer than most of your staff have been alive, and could tell from a mile away the front end of that ***** ***** *** (vin: *****************) had been pulled/stretched. Furthermore, it was clear the car had been taken a bath in saltwater. I was already suspicious when you offered only one key for the car, when the rear hatch clearly required remote access to open. I also checked other car sites besides Craigslist, and saw you listed that Fit with "2 Accidents" AFTER I left a negative review on ****. Meaning you were fully aware of the structural damage but chose to withold it. I should have checked **** before I called you, as there are plenty of other unhappy customers upset you sold them a lemon. BUYER BEWARE!!!
