Have been paying them auto pay for years. Sept 2024 payment was returned, so I tried to contact them. Finally found out they are no longer in business. Sold their debt off. I was never notified by them or the new agency. Had to track down who they sold it to, only to find out the new firm is trying to garnish my wages now. Now, I have to hire an attorney.

I had a debt I settled back in 2008 with this collections agency. Fast forward to 2024 and I have this same debt sold from Schiff to ****** ***** *** and they are now after me for the same debt (ALREADY PAID IN 2008). Not sure how to resolve this. If you Schiff have my paid paper work please let me know how I can resolve this and maybe bring some credit back to your name. ****** *****

After paying my account in full after nearly 6 months Howard Lee Schiff has come back voiding all my payments. It’s extremely shady that suddenly they’ve closed and you cannot view anything on their website but they can void your payments further destroying your credit.

Was charged so much fees during COVID when I couldn’t pay and called my credit card company, when Howard took over in court he wouldn’t remove any late fees and my debt was around 800$ and I’m paying over 1900 for this debt. He wouldn’t budge on anything at all.

My true opinion of this company is there not willing to help people what so ever!! I’ve settled with other debt collectors no problem these crooks won’t budge to help me I tried to with no luck and they put a lien on my house which I never heard of this happening to hard working folks like me I wanted to give them a fair offer I was told nooooooo where getting it all. So my dealing with them is there definitely a horrible company. I’d go with zero stars that’s fitting to that company!!!!!

*** ***** Thank you for your feedback. I am unable to locate your file with the name you have given. If you would like to provide me with additional information, I will research this further for you. There are times when we are not permitted to do what consumers ask us to do. In most cases, that is because we have clients who give us instructions, and we are required to follow those instructions. Please keep in mind that you are not our customer. BBB calls this a "Customer Review," but that is not the case. We cannot represent you because we represent our clients, and we must follow their instructions. Thank you again, and feel free to contact us for more information.

These are horrible people preying on those that are going through misfortune. They work for debt collectors. They have repeatedly lied about sending out paperwork. They lied that they would work with me but reneged on their promise. They have added erroneous fees bloating the original amount owed. These people are the worst. Stay clear. I wouldn't allow they to do a simple legal task after messing up my life

After a review of *** ************ case, it appears that a judgment entered against her in 2017. At that time, she was ordered to make payments of $35/week. No payments were ever made, so a wage execution was issued in order to enforce the judgment. *** ************* called our office and asked us to release the wage execution, but we cannot do that since there are marshal fees involved at this point. She spoke to an attorney, and was directed to call the clerk's office about it. There have been no "lies" about sending out paperwork. All paperwork was sent to defendant's current address, and if she has a new address, she needs to inform our office and the Court. There have been no "lies" about working with her. No "erroneous fees" were added to the original amount. She was ordered to pay costs and interest by the Court, and there are fees associated with the marshal's service. These are the fees/costs which have been added to the original amount.
