I hired Collegian Movers for a residential move from ********** ** to ********* ** on 9/29/2024. When unloading our items to the new home I discovered that the movers had forgotten to take the gas grill and 2 outdoor patio chairs from the backyard. At the time, the crew leader, Nick, acknowledged the oversight and took responsibility. He said that would go back to pick up the 3 remaining items and deliver them, however, he would not be able to do it that same day. We agreed that he would do this another day the following week. I expressed my appreciation at this and told him that any day that week would be fine. Since then they have not set a date to pick up and deliver the items. After repeated phone calls I am told by Matt there that they will have to charge me to send a truck back out to pick up and deliver my items. I did not agree to be charged and he has hung up on me, put me on an extended hold, and is not not returning repeated calls and messages. Collegian Movers has refused to make right on their commitment to complete my move and are now stonewalling and essentially holding my items hostage by refusing to deliver them unless I pay an additional fee.Customer response

This was in town move (1.2 miles) 9/24/2022. 1. Estimate included 2 trips. The team was disorganized; took them all day to fill the truck one time and much was left behind. We hired a handyman with a truck to move the remainder. They did rebate $400. 2. They damaged the door jams of the doorway going up the stairs. There was obvious paint chips all over the floor. I had to repair the everything before the sale of our house closed. The broke miscellaneous items; foot on antique table, trim piece off of an antique mirror, they moved the table saw and threw it back in the garage not assembled properly. The did offer to send a repairman to look at the antiques. 3. We moved our expensive TV ourselves so that we did not have to worry about any damage. Without asking, they took the liberty of moving the tv from where we had it safely stored and we found it on the bed. There is a 1" scratch on the front of the newer television. I was told that I initialed paperwork limiting their liability to 60 cents a pound. I was presented the paperwork until the morning of the move. I was so busy managing their chaos that I did not have time to read the very small print. 5. I had taken out cash to give the team a tip that morning. I left my pocketbook unattended in the kitchen (which was my stupidity), and when I looked for the tip, the cash was missing. 6. We purposely did not include the TV in the move and feel it should not be included in their liability clauses. Are they actually absolved from repairing damage to our property that is not part of the move?Business response

I am rejecting this response because:Repairman was a woodworker and told me he had no way to address damage to TV.
I am confident the furniture repairs will be made and done right, but doubtful about the television.

When the client called to discuss their move, to resolve their issues, we immediately gave them a $435.00 credit + sent out a professional repair person to touch up their mirror frame and table leg.
Regarding the television, the client stated that they moved it themselves. We DID NOT move the television.
It is our suggestion that the client submit a claim to their home owners insurance for this loss.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is not satisfactory to me, however I feel that we have no recourse.For the record, the moving company did not move the TV to the location, however they most certainly moved it from a safe place against the wall, damaged the front of it, and we found it facedown on top of the bed that they moved to the location. This is an unfortunate resolution as this company damaged our property.

Moving from ** to ******* The took all my packed boxes (NO FURNITURE JUST CLOTHES) BACK in aug and have not been delivered to ** yet ,cannot get anyware with them on phone order number ******* aug 9 boxes were picked up and what i understand they are still sitting in wharehouse the boxes were picked at ** **** ** ******* ** and are to be delivered to ***** **** ***** ** *********** has been 2 months now and like i said they never call back ,I am down in ******* now and still waiting to hear from them ******** ****** ***** **** ***** ** ******** ** **********Business response
