Should have done our research, also befuddled a church. Thought this was the 'Mike's'  that did sealcoating a couple of streets over. Online found Mike's Sealcoating (address/phone number listed here) owned by Mike G. Sent him an email via my email account directly. Asked for quote, no rush. He responded he could quote the following weekend. He came on a Saturday when we were away and left quote on front door. Accepted his quote via email. He replied he could come 2 days later on a Monday. On Monday I sent him an email saying 'awfully hot, no rush to do this' to which he did not reply. At 11 AM ish he rang doorbell and again I said 'awfully hot' but he insisted doing the work as he was used to it. We trusted him as a professional. I handed him a check so he would not have to come back up when done. Nothing else discussed. Left at 1 PMish (3 workers). With the extreme heat, we did not go out to review anything til 24 hours later when we had a doctor's appointment. Walking along the grass and seeing the 'work' was shocking. We could see a half dozen areas of repairs to his judgement of cracks. However entire driveway was in the same 'fine line cracks' from beginning to end. 'His repairs' left a rough finish to the touch. He used a fine wand type sprayer to emit a water like black something all over which did not fill the overall web of cracks but only provided a nice glow to the driveway. So a day after I handed him a check before he started the work, I put a hold on the check and advised via email. At 6:45 AM next day he called to blast me. Email followed in same format. I said we would get a 2nd opinion of work. After on-site reviews, we choose to pay him $500 instead of his $800. We attached it to his sign and put it out front under our streetlight. We do not want him back to 'fix' anything because of his original demeanor to help resolve this. So far has not picked up the check. Have Pictures/video.

This person should have done some research. I don't know what she is referencing towards a church. Yes, there are other Mikes Sealcoating, i am in CT. i do work near their house.This person contacted me by email and stated they would prefer to do things by email, And asked for a estimate.i gave them a free estimate which they agreed to and we set a date. The price was $600 to seal +$200 for crack filling. $800 total.If they had certain expectations or questions they should have been addressed before the job.We showed up to do the work on that day and did the driveway like i have done thousands of times before and she gave me a check while we were doing the job. Also while there i was stung in my head and neck by a white faced hornets nest that was on her property.After more than 24 hours she accused me of snookering old people and she was going to put a stop payment on the check.i asked for her # so we can talk in person and i called the next day and she was upset that the surface cracks didn't disappear which is from the previous sealcoat that was cracking from being applied to thick and or not using a flexible sealer. i let her know if i was to apply so much sealer to hide these cracks it would come back much worse.i offered to recoat the driveway if that's what she wants. or what it would take to make her happy and she said she will let me. i also told her i spent 5 hours in the ER from getting stung there and she laughed.She said she would only pay me $500 for the job. and i have to pick it up under the hornets nest.So I am taking her to small claims court for triple damages.I have always used the best products ,mixed them properly and gave people a great quality job and i take pride in my work. And i have been doing it for over 35 years and i don't snooker old people
