I hired All Star Rooter to clean out a number of drains. I was told that they were cleaned and in good working order except for one drain with a rock in it. We agreed to not fix that one drain and to redirect a gutter to solve the problem. What we learned is the other drains were not in good working order which was NOT told to us when we paid the bill and was NOT listed on the receipt. This caused damage to our home as we were unaware there was an issue. The contractor, after failing to show up a few times finally showed up for 5 minutes and did not inspect a single drain. He refused to fix or refund any money. His invoice says work is guaranteed but that is not crossed out on the invoice. He did cross out the number of months which led us to believe there was no time limit on the guarantee. After I contested the bill with the credit card company he finally drew a diagram of all the things wrong with my drains which would have been helpful to know before I had damage. He never told me this or wrote it down that I had issues with my drains. The major drain is the basement stairwell drain which is on the other side of the house from the drain he wrote about. I did tell him to NOT fix the drain with the rock in it as we redirected a gutter to solve that drain problem. This is the same situation as a car mechanic telling a customer he has working breaks when they are broken.Business response

I don't want to reply to a lot of his comments cause they're inaccurate. I'll tell it from the beginning. His wife hired me After 3 or 4 companies turning down the job. I specialized in drain cleaning especially leader line's. I worked on somewhere around 10 to 12 drains Around the house there was clay pipe Orangeburg some schedule 10/20 pvc. Half of these drains went to a drywell. There was one he didn't want me to work on because he didn't want to spend anymore. There was 2 I couldn't get flowing 1 a stairway drain that went right into a drywell, Another one was collapsed. Half of these drains went to a drywell I showed him the area that they were going to and told him that it should be dug up.The reason why his house flooded is because the drywells couldn't handle the amount of rain that came down, they were working just overwhelmed with water. We don't guarantee drywells. Back to me being the contractor his house was under construction he was the one handling it therefore he was the contractor. The contractor failed to listen and finish paying for the remaining work that was needed....

I am rejecting this response because: he never explained this to me. He is now saying this after I tried to dispute the credit card charge. He told me everything was working except on crushed drain. Our gutter guy said it was easy to route around the crushed drain. He never said anything about the drywell not working or any other drain not working. In fact he told me everything else was working. When I asked him back to look at the drains he showed up for less than five minutes. Refused to look at any drain and complained about my cell service at the property. He left without doing anything. When j called again he hung up on me and told me he was never coming back. I paid for drains to be cleaned and on his receipt he only mentions one bad drain. Now he is claiming there were more. He needs to give me that information so I could have decided to have him work or fix the other or hire someone. But I went under the impression everything was working so instead of fixing things I had a flood in my basement and major damage.his attitude and manner which he has spoken to me has infuriated me which is why I am making claims against him. I asked him to make things right and he refused.
