This repair company and ******** tech line are both worthless. This company in particular is an absolute scam. I wish I had seen everyone else’s reviews and experiences before committing to a monthly service plan. We have a ****** dryer and have been getting the same alarm code over and over. We bought the service plan through Domestic & General. They have sent a tech to our home 7 times and counting. Every time we are told they need to replace the same two parts. Every time the dryer fails with the same alarm code within hours of the tech being onsite. We have not had a working dryer for 3 months and there is no end in sight. I can’t believe this company is allowed to remain in business and continue to scam new customers.Review from M. V.

First off upon gathering information about warranty plans over the phone , they do not provide crucial info about the plan. They share the good stuff. Needless to mention, you have a broken appliance needing to get fixed whole causing additional complications at home. At the end of the call they tell you THEY are emailing the full warranty agreement n be sure to read BY THE ****, you have already signed up based on what they disclosed by phone. Due to complications with the technician company sent out n complications on getting additional time off approved from work , I called the back within several days to cancel the warranty plan. Their customer service is sadly terrible. I spoke to Ashantia who made so many childish excuses refusing to cancel. She also hung up on my twice and placed on extended holds 4 times or more . In the end they pocketed $203.15 caused a whole of **************** got done. This is not a company but a legalized scamming entity. Ended up with then fir doing business with whirlpool appliance which broke right after one year. Right when manufacturer warranty came up. AND the whole time Im thinking Im getting a whirlpool warranty - They also failed to explain by phone that they use third party afliate warranty companies NOT accredited by the BBB.Review from Tina L

If I could give zero stars I would. This company is a scam. Their customer service is awful and there is no resolution to issues. This purchase was a waste of money, I ended up having to call my own appliance repair company. Save yourself $38 and go elsewhere.Review from Anita B

09/2024 This company is contracted with *** ********** who serviced a 4 yr. old ********* washer 3 times and it's still not working properly. A full assessment could have avoided the multiple service visit, laundry expenses and wasted time. Totally dissatisfied, I called to cancel the warranty and was told it couldn't be cancelled because the contractor didn't closeout the ticket. I requested a copy of the Terms and Condition policy and still have not received it. I was also told there is a cancellation fee for the full amount of the warranty due before cancelling. CSR indicated that they have to pay the contractor and I said yes I understand that but you will get your payments back from Whirlpool in full so the loss is on the customer that was told they have until 30 days to cancel. I will be seeing you in court.Domestic & General Response

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review but we're sorry to hear you weren't satisfied with your repair journey. We had an agent reach out via phone and e-mail but haven't heard back from you. Our records indicate your most recent repair has been completed and that you've received the requested copy of the terms and conditions. We will be following up with service provider concerning the repair quality you mentioned. Please reach back out directly to your case manager if you have any additional concerns that haven't been addressed.Review from WaryBuyer

***** this company. You will rue the day you signed up for an extended appliance warranty with them. It will cost you hours and hours of phone conversations with powerless customer service employees who cannot connect you to a supervisor, emails that are never acknowledged or receive only meaningless responses such as "we'll let you know when we have information...", and empty promises of multiple escalations that yield nothing. You will never speak or chat with a supervisor. If your time is worth anything at all, bite the bullet and buy a new appliance from a different family of products. In my experience, AVOID BUYING MAYTAG, which is now *********. And if you have their appliance, certainly avoid WHIRLPOOL's extended warranty offer from ************************************************** particular experience to this point consists of a repair request for a Maytag dishwasher on August 5, 2024. After the only service visit by their contractor VIA Services, on August 13, three parts were ordered with an expected 10 days to delivery. Then on the scheduled date of installation, for which I stayed home, VIA called to say that the parts had been lost (a little late to notice and notify!) and would be reordered. Since then, multiple calls to VIA and to D&G have yielded nothing at all. Yesterday, 50 days after the claim, VIA sent me a recorded phone message that parts were on "short backorder, expected to be obtained in ***** days but it could be longer". Well, it's already been 42 days since the parts order was submitted by VIA, so yeah, longer. I have also requested that D&G replace the appliance under the contract clause that promises replacement when repair is not possible or is uneconomical. They apparently will not respond to the request. The customer service phone representatives are friendly but can do nothing but "elevate", and that means divert your complaint into a black hole.Review from Dan H

Do not do business with D&G, it is a total scam! If I could give no stars, that is what I would choose. When I called KitchenAid for repair of my dishwasher, I was given two options, one was to pay a one time repair fee or option two was to purchase an extended service plan. It was a little bit more for 12 months of premium for the extended service plan, but I figured that if anything else came up I would be covered. They do not tell you at time of purchase that D&G would be the provider until after you pay pay. After purchase, I received an email from a service provided to schedule an appointment. I did not get a list of providers to choose from for the repair. The appointment was scheduled two days later. The technician was late to the appointment and when he came in started complaining about how it was Friday afternoon and he needed to be done. He had no clue what he was doing and after fumbling around for a while, he said he was just going to order a bunch of parts and then another appointment could be scheduled. I called D&G the following Monday and told them what happened and that I wanted to cancel the policy. Since the service visit had already been scheduled they said they could not cancel the policy. They offered to send another technician but I said no, I want to cancel. They advised me they would assign my case to a Case Owner and they would be in touch. Its been over a week and no return call. Ive called multiple times and they continue say the same thing that the case owner will be in touch but theres no action on their part. They did tell me today that I could pay a cancelation fee of $185.43, but I refused and asked to speak to a manager. No manger was made available and the agent just kept spewing the same information out. ***** this company at all costs! I cannot believe a brand like *********** would do business with a company like this and now I would think twice about buying one of their products..Review from Dayna L

If I could I would score it -1 star. This is daunting I wish I read BBB reviews before purchasing back on June 24, 2024. Because I would have never trusted Domestic & General USA. They sell you on what THEY need on the phone. But when your appliance is not repaired AFTER 2 visits because of parts. Then tell YOU READ the contract that you signed. Signed up for Representatives are all scripted to save the company's @$$'s stating no refund because of the contract the customer signed. Now over two months without a washer and two technician visits said because of PARTS! Well why the h3!! they did explain that to me in the beginning! How insulting to think that I would have agreed to sign up for this instead of purchase a new washer. Which they charging me $34.47/mo for a year = $413.64 for an extended warranty. Brand new = $488. Headed to ***** now to purchase ******* or ** product. ***** on ****** and Whirlpool allow companies such as this treat your loyal customers with disrespectfully when WE PUT OUR TRUST in YOU and YOUR APPLIANCES! To think that Domestic & General USA sent me a welcoming email with Maytag and Whirlpool brand on it stating "Relax, weve got you covered". Yes, they did COVERED in $H!+! I'm not done with them yet. I am working with my credit card company and disputing everything. NO MORE MAYTAG or ********* products!Review from Alessandra B

I whish I could give 0 stars.I made a contract for a washer repair on 6/26. First tech came after one week, he thought he identified the problem and ordered a piece. Second tech comes in after 10 days with the piece. Well apparently that was not the problem, but he installed it anyway, so now I cannot get a refound. Ordered a new piece that is in backorder and 2 months later I am still without a working washer. They are asking me to continue to wait. I spent hundered of dollars in the mean time and hours of my time to do my laundry outside my house. Will never use this company again.Review from Tim N

Do not Bo business with this company. They are unethical and unresponsive to customer complaints.Heres what happened to **** purchased a new Whirlpool refrigerator around August 2023. I enrolled in the extended warranty through Domestic and General. Less than 90 days after I purchased this appliance it was deemed defective and replaced by the retailer. Instead of cancelling or transferring the extended warranty, Domestic and General created a new extended warranty on the replacement unit. The result was duplicate charges to my credit card. After 5 months, and about $50 in dupe charges that problem was identified. I requested a refund from *********************************************** for payments for a warranty on a product that no longer existed. Never a service call to them. After a few days I was informed (through my follow-up) that my request was denied. The reason given was that ** failed to notify them the original refrigerator had been replaced. Who would have thought if that?Tried sending an email to the *** in the **. The company wouldnt provide the email. After searching the internet I thought I found the email but after sending details to the *** the email bounced back as undeliverable.I sent a letter to the US address for ***********************************************. No response.Buyer Beware!Review from ILAISAANE O
