I sought out this company because I had recently rented a single family house & my family was having severe respiratory & gastro problems since moving in 2 months before. I spoke to Meegan and told her about my family (including my son with asthma), & that I thought there was mold in the house and what looked like white dust grime all over the first floor. This grime was getting into our food, dishes, closets, and noses, despite my incessant cleaning of the house. Because our landlord would not address my complaints, I asked Meegan to send an inspector to take samples. On March 1, 2022, an inspector came out to our house, did a visual inspection and noticed the white powder & sticky substance on many areas of the first floor (where we eat and sleep), & also visually inspected the basement. He then he took approximately a half dozen mold & dust samples. We received a report about 10 days later, which indicated there was mold in the basement & construction substances on the first floor. The report contained recommendations for cleaning the mold in the basement, but no recommendations regarding the first floor. I called RTK four times to fix the report & got no call back after leaving messages both the inspector & at the company main number. I finally got a man on the phone about a week later, and he said that RTK was only looking for mold (totally untrue) and, if there was no mold found on the first floor, there would be no recommendations for the first floor. I asked for a call from the owner of the company but never received one. The result was that, without any such recommendations for the first floor, the landlord refused any cleanup there. Because we cannot live in a house under those conditions, we are now at risk of losing thousands of dollars for rent through December 2022. Due to RTK's failure to produce a proper full report & its failure to respond to me, I am requesting that RTK repay us for the full cost of the inspection.Business response

We cannot falsify our test results to suit the narrative—for either party—in a tenant/landlord situation. While our inspector did take samples in your basement that came back with “unacceptable” levels of mold (independent laboratory tests) and made recommendations accordingly, the sample that you agreed to on the main level of the dwelling came back within “acceptable” levels of pollutants (that could be attributed to typical household dust).
When you had spoken with Meegan, you had told her that you were hoping to get out of your lease early. To reiterate, RTK will not falsify scientific findings to appease either tenants or landlords. We respectfully request that you remove your BBB complaint, which was clearly written with the intent to punish our company for not providing the findings and recommendations you were hoping for. Please call me directly at ************ so that we can resolve the issue as soon as possible.
