This dealership sold me a car that has problems and they will not return my money.Business response

The customer purchased a 2006 ******** **** *** ******* on February 6, 2024 with 152,476 miles on it. The vehicle came with a thirty day, fifteen hundred mile warranty. This warranty is spelled out explicitly and I have included copies of the warranty, finance contract, invoice, odometer statement, retail purchase order, and state inspection form. On February 21st, the customer returned with the vehicle and the front tires were bald on the outside edges. At that point it had 155,583 miles on it. We performed an alignment (set toe-in), inspected the front end, and installed two good used tires. The customer returned again on March 5th and the front tires were bald again on the outside edge. The odometer reading on the 5th was 158,281. We once again installed two used tires, set the toe-in, and checked the front end. WE ALSO REPLACED THREE WHEEL STUDS AND THREE WHEEL LUGS ON THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL. The mechanic who worked on it here DEFINITELY did not send the car back out with two studs broken off and one stripped (only two out of five fasteners holding wheel on) leading me to think that someone else had the wheel off in the meantime. We are uncertain if the tires we replaced the were the ones that we installed on the 21st. We also repaired (welded) the attachment for one of the struts that holds open the hatchback on the back of the van. On March 8th, Mr. ***** called and claimed that the front tires were again bald on the vehicle; Three days after we installed two really nice tires. He wanted to return the vehicle for a full refund. I explained to him that he had already traveled about four times the 1,500 mile warranty (5,805 miles as of the 5th). I told him that I was willing to take another look at the van but there was no way he was getting a refund. I explained to him that if he had RENTED the van from us for a month and done this amount of mileage it would have cost him over $1,500 dollars for the rental. I also need to mention that this van was one that I had been using as a rental. I registered the van as a rental on 1/7/21 with 96,700 miles on it and it was in my rental fleet for over three years, until Mr. ***** purchased it without issue or any problems with premature tire wear.Initial Complaint

If I could give a negative score I would give a -100 supposedly there is no “ Used car lemon law “ but every vehicle is supposed to have a “warranty “ my wife and I wanted to share our experience with others in hope that you would read our experience and please don’t go to this man and give him any money you will be dealing with a absolutely headache! You really would think this world would have more Decent citizens especially business owners wow Not to mention this company is not accredited by the BBB which I do agree I should’ve been smarter with our purchase but at first the so called owner Lou seemed legit and like a decent guy so we purchased a 2004 ***** **** from his lot drove it off not even 8 hours of having possession of this vehicle it overheated called the guy he was very rude came picked up the car the next say “Fixed the issue” I drive home no heat in the car and still running bad he says oh the motor mount is a cosmetic issue at first but then the motor mount ended up being an additional problem now he has had possession of the vehicle for more than a week and still it is not fixed when I asked for my money back he says “ that’s not happening “ he’s rude and a disgrace to American Businesses I can’t believe the situation I am dealing with so now it having the head cylinder replaced for the 2nd time because his mechanic Lisa advised me the car overheated on her in ******* and they had just replaced the head cylinder he tells me oh it’s a used part that’s why ! Just do yourself a favor use my experience and our loss as a motivator to skip across this place and go get your moneys worth somewhere where there will be less risk not to mention it’s not like anything on his lot is goingg to last I would imagine a year max that’s all we were depending on the car to last us but damn didn’t even last a day ! My attorney has been in coordination with the BbB and guy there is a Lemon Law there are just certian way’s to go about the process if anyone is in the sameBusiness response

We previously replaced the Head Gasket, not the Cylinder Head. I have obtained a used cylinder head, sent it to the machine shop to be checked and am now re-installing it. I doubt that a "new" cylinder head exists anywhere for a ***** ****; they stopped making them in 2005, nearly 17 years ago. Used is all that exists. I am living up to the terms of the express warranty. There is no implied warranty on a used car in CT over 7 years of age. I have pushed other work and customers to the side to expedite this customer's car. The customer is rude and abusive. These are older used cars. Things go wrong. I will happily fix these things but the customer's have to understand that these things happen.
