  In March 2023, I hired Farooq Q***** to fix a leak that was occurring in my property at **** **** ****** in ********. This job started in March 2023 and continued until October 2023. First, Farooq opened the ceiling in the first floor apartment and said he found the problem. The repair was made (not sure what that was) and the ceiling was closed. About 10 days later, the leak was back. I contacted Farooq and he told me that I needed to caulk the floor in the upstairs bathroom because sweat was dripping in. The work was done and the leak was not fixed. I contacted Farooq again and he told me that I needed to remove the shower doors in the upstairs bathroom and close the holes. The work was done and the leak was not fixed. I contacted Farooq again and he told me that water must be getting through the tiles and that I needed to install shields and waterproof the entire shower area in the upstairs bathroom. The work was done and the leak was not fixed. I contacted Farooq again and asked him if he could open the ceiling and leave it open so he can see exactly where the leak was coming from but he never responded and never went back. After contacting Farooq for a week with no response, I had no choice but to hire another contractor. The other contractor opened the ceiling and in 15 minutes he said the bathtub stopper was broken. He also said that it did not look like any work was done in the ceiling - picture attached. It has been over a month since the stopper wad replaced and there has been no leak. I contacted Farooq to tell him the leak was fixed and that the problem was the bathtub stopper to which he responded, "Oh yea, that makes sense." Farooq had no idea what he was doing. He charged me $12,100 to do random work and it did not fix the leak. It was the same leak in the same spot every time. I don't believe he bothered looking for the problem and just wanted to take my money. The other contractor found and fixed the leak in 15 minutes and the part only cost me $50. I also found out that Farooq didn't do the work under his business name but under his relatives business, Hi Tech Contracting, without the business owners permission.
