Good morning,I have some serious issues to raise with this company. I submitted an application three weeks ago to the charter pointe location in *****************, **. The woman working there at the time made sure to charge my card $275. HOWEVER, I have heard NOTHING BACK IN THREE WEEKS. I have lived in different apartments, and have never experienced anything like this. When I reach out via text, email, phone calls. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE ANSWERS. I've stopped by the office in person 4 times so far, and they never have answers just always say okay I'm working on this. My lease is up on Saturday, 9/14/24. I applied in well enough time to at least have heard back to whether or not I have been approved or denied. This entire situation is giving fraudulent and thievery, from a desperate, broke, company. Or y'all are struggling to properly manage the staff at these offices. Someone stole my money, I've asked about a refund on my $200 hold fee which is explicitly stated on the form is refundable! So that I can just move on and apply somewhere else. I should not have to beg for my money back when your staff has been purposely delaying the application process. This should have been over in a week. ****. especially because I've rented from charter pointe, this exact location for 3 years. This is the first year I wasn't there and now I'm simply trying to move back where I have good standing. There's proof of constant on time payments. Regardless, I am looking for some resolve here. I have a close family friend that works in law and I will be pursuing a suit for this flagrant negligence and theft and just to make sure people see how crooked this complex is. I would have rather just gotten an immediate denial than be left waiting for weeks on end (heading up to a month here) and just been getting into a different place. I NEED TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE. ****. Thank you, ****** ***** ***********************

My son, ***** ***** applied for a rental property 3 weeks ago at Goldelm at Charter Pointe, paid $275 and was told response in 2 days. My son continuously contacted the office every 2 to 3 days and was told to call back each time. Out to lunch, busy or no answer. Finally today, 8/30/24 ***** spoke with ***** who identified herself as a new employee/Office manager and his application was declined. When asked the reason why, she refused to answer. I ******* *****, Tylors mother called ***** and again inquired why denial? She refused to answer and simply said, call the third-party vendor, consumer bureau of credit at ************. When ***** called they referred back to complex for reason. I called ***** again and she refused to provide the corporate contact number and disconnected ******* son has NO Criminal record, three years of excellent no late rental history, steady and consistent work history, gross monthly income $5200 and credit score 645. There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON FOR DENIAL and/or refusal to provide reason. We also have saved emails and phone logs if necessary for review. This denial can impact my sons credit score and also any future applications for other rentals.

I wanted to inform you I applied to another apartment complex and was immediately approved, within 24 hours

I believe Charter apartments is fraudulently accepting application fees and not processing.

it Doesnt surprise me no response as I see many complaints and no resolution.

thank You for trying to help and documenting this issue.

I moved out of my apartment on 7/22/24. I took a video to show proof that the house was cleaned top to bottom left in better condition from when I moved in. I moved out due to lease ending and multiple issues with my ac not working properly to where my father on FaceTime had to tell the maintenance men in Spanish how to temporarily fix my ac because they were not going to do anything about me not having ac. I have had issues with management being absolutely rude and unprofessional towards me. I have attempted to advise them of noise complaints and safety hazards and numerous non residents staying in the parking lot getting their cars fixed at night by the downstairs neighbors apartment & an unauthorized daycare in the downstairs neighbors home. I have sent proof of the noise complaints with videos and pictures and no resolution was made. The only thing I was met with was the property manager ******** at that time telling me wow you know everyones business dont you. With my response being of course I do, theyre so loud I cant help but hear whats outside my window at midnight. All Im asking for is my security deposit returned in full.

In the past maintenance has showed up and come into my unit without notifying me. I requested to be notified even though its a requirement by law and written in the lease contract. I am a single mom and live alone with my baby. Between 1:00-2:15 pm my apartment maintenance man showed up at my door dressed in uniform ( I opened because I had put in a maintenance request) as he walks in another man comes from around the corner wearing a black shirt that says " Maintenance Guy " ( I have ring camera footage if needed). They proceed to walk around my whole apartment opening doors and cabinets not fixing anything or even acknowledging the maintenance request that's been in over a month. Once they leave they go upstairs to my neighbor and do the same thing. Im not sure if they were *** traffickers, planning to rob me or what... After they left my unit the man with the black shirt got into a truck and left, The maintenance man then proceeds to admit that it was the cops and he couldn't call because he was being watched. Feeling uneasy because I've studied criminal justice and know that cops don't conduct business that way I went to the front office. When I asked about what's going on the front office manager claims he knew nothing about them being here and that it was not approved for Maintenance to come to my unit. He the said they were looking for someone and that's all the information they've given me. I've asked many times who that was in my unit they will not admit it. Someone has already broken into my apartment while I was 6 months pregnant. At this point I do not feel safe and would like to break my lease but I'm being told I will have to pay.

I had a medical emergency and was stuck inside my apartment on Jan. 31st 2024. I couldnt get out of bed due to a terrible life threatening back injury and I called the front office to see if they could come open the apartment chains so that someone could come help me. They said they couldnt do anything and to call the fire department to break the chains. So I did. The fire department quickly came to rescue me and take me to the nearest hospital in an ambulance because due to the severity of my injury I couldnt walk. Today 2/13/24 I spoke with the Regional Manager ******* here at Goldelm at Charter Point about my situation and that I needed the locks replaced. She refused to accept my situation as a life threatening event and said that due to the fact that I told the fire department to break the locks that I had to pay for the locks to be replaced. I explained to her the severity and I even offered to bring my medical records as proof of my injury and of what happened. She completely ignored my request and still insisted that because the reason wasnt something like that the door was jammed and it wouldnt open, that I had to pay for the costs of repair. That due to the fact that I was inside and I put the locks (even though I couldnt walk to unlock the chains) that I told them to break the locks to come rescue me so I have to pay for the damages. It want even the door handle lock. Just the inside chain locks and I followed what the office person told me. She was very inconsiderate of my situation and offered no other solution than to force me to pay for something that was an a life threatening emergency. She just said she would send me the bill. I havent received the bill yet, but I just want someone to help me with this situation. I feel as though I was taken advantage of during this sensitive time in my life where I am still very ill. I had people that mad my spare key to get in but due to the inside locks no one could. I feel as though this is very unfair.

I paid $2620 for this apartment a homicide had occurred 06/21/2022. The bath tub is where the homocide occurred and the bath tub felt like sand paper stepping in it. There was so much paint on the walls you could see the drip **** and at night I would make me sick. The break ins were numerous and called authorities. Drug dens all around people constantly doing and selling drugs. One of the Maintenance men asked me out in date which I refused and he kept asking. So I move out now I am being sued. And can not afford an attorney

I moved out of this apartment on 8/19. Before moving out I was made aware I needed to professionally clean the carpets and submit receipts and I would not be charged carpet cleaning fees, which I did. On 8/28 I received a notice of what was to be taken out of deposit refunding $1,328 and I had 15 days to respond before landlord deducts. I sent a certified letter back on 8/29 or 8/30 with copy of Receipt that they already had stating I cannot be charged the $125 for carpet cleaning and I am to be refunded $1,453. The next day a check with $1,328 was in my mailbox. They sent the check before I had the change to respond. Check was dated 8/27. I called and spoke with Yessenia and I was told she would check with people above her because she does not know why that happened (leaving me to believe she was not property manager. For about 3 weeks I tried calling and getting answers but was always told the same thing, unsure and an email would be sent. Today, 9/18 I called and Jayleen was helpful and said she would finally get property management on phone, which to my surprise was Yessenia. And somehow she had pictures today and said the rug was dirty and person who did walkthrough deemed it necessary to be cleaned again. I asked if she knew that why didn’t she say that before and she said nothing. They do not plan of refunding me because they said rules changed from when Maria was PM (beginning of August) to now.I told her again Maria said I could not get charged for cleaning carpet but she said they could. I asked for corporate information and they refused me the information. I was not given a notice that rules changed. If I had, I would not have paid $124 to get the carpet cleaning myself and just let them do it. I would just like to be reimbursed and they admit they should not have taken the money out and honored the original agreement if things were changed and I was not made aware of changes.

On July 21st, 2023, an eviction was officially filed by Lakeisha P*****, the property manager, after the rent was already paid and accepted. Despite my motions and evidence sent to the judge that rent was paid before the filling of the eviction, they still got writ of possession. Everything on that summon was false, yet they still got writ of possession. As if that wasn't enough, Lakeisha P***** has now cut out all of my options on how I can pay rent. She's restricting me to paying rent with only Cashier's checks even though the lease says otherwise. If you look at page 2 on the lease, top right hand corner (attached) money orders are one of the options that I can pay rent with at their discretion of course. I never had an insufficient payment before so the restriction to only cashier's checks is unwarranted. I have never paid rent with Cashier's checks before and I don't have a bank that issues them. It is extremely hard to get a cashier's check because you can only get them through traditional banks and you need to have an account with them. Although she can, she has no interest in accommodating when it comes to me. According to the eviction filing, I had to deposit August's rent in the court registry and I deposited it via money order so I find it ironic that August's rent can be paid with a money order but not September's? I have reasons to believe that she does not personally like me based on previous interactions with her. Every interaction with her have never been pleasant and tend to escalate to a screaming match. It is so bad that I no longer communicate with her directly but trough other property managers in the office. Noelia, one of the other property managers, has been my only positive in this situation as she is extremely kind. Although I still have 7 months left on my lease , Lakeisha has already told me that she does not plan on renewing my lease next year. Granted , I have been late paying rent a few times last year. However, this year , I have been on time for the past 8 months with the exception of July. I keep my apartment clean and pest free, I'm not a noisy tenant and the last property manager (Katelyn) gave me a lot of praises on that. For the past 2-3 weeks, I have been trying to pay the unwarranted "court fees" (from July's eviction) and September's rent using money orders since I don't have any other options but she refuses to accept them. She has already told me that I will be charged late fees for September's rent If I can't pay with a Cashier's check by (9.5.23) even though I have tried to pay but she's the one refusing them. I know for a fact that she plans on filing another eviction on me for September's rent because her ultimate goal is to get me evicted. She has made these last 2 months unnecessarily hard for me simply because she's in a position where she can do that as she is the regional property manager. We all know the eviction process is an extremely stressful and long process that no one wants to go through. Lakeisha has singlehandedly caused a lot of stress for me for the past 2 months to the point it's starting to affect me physically and I plan on going to see a doctor to have this documented. I have never been in this kind of predicament where I have a hostile relationship with a property manager. I just want to be able to peacefully live in my apartment like I've been doing before Lakeisha came into office. I have attached the following forms for reference; the Summons, Lease, my motions, July's rent receipt, August rent receipt. I am desperately trying to get things back on track so I can put this behind me and move on with my life. I literally have the money orders in my hands as we speak for September's rent and the court fees for July but she won't accept them I am writing this complaint in hopes that I can get some kind of resolution and hopefully avoid another eviction filing and as well have the late fees removed for September's rent.. Please help me!
