August 7th 2024 I had a problem with my leaf filter gutters they showed up and told me there wasn't any mesh on my gutters the secured roofers threw it away with the old shingles and I didn't know that for two years because I can't get on a ladder called to have them pay for the replacement for reinstatement of my lifetime warranty they told me no, the reason is that they didn't know what happened within the two years but if it was a storm all the screws would be ripped out and they weren't August 10th 2024 secured roofing came out and the employee took pictures and even took a segment of the mess that was just hanging there show his boss. The answer was no!

The employee was onsite for a roof leak not to evaluate the leaf gutter guards. The insurance company paid for the replacement of the leaf gutter guards. Leaf gutters guards are not able to be reinstalled once the gutters are removed. The homeowner was told that he would have to handle the replacement of the gutter guards out of the large settlement he received from the insurance company.

The person hired to do the roof and solar has taken the money, but never put up the solar. I requested an invoice over a month ago and he never sent it. I spoke with him last Wednesday and he said he schedule the solar install and will need me to pay the deductible the day of. I said ok and to send me the invoice. He did not send the email and instead the day before it was scheduled to be complete he called and told me to pay. I told him he never sent the invoice and he said he would send it by 11:30am. At 12:48pm he sent me an invoice that was almost $600 above the deductible and said I needed to pay it before 4pm or he will not do the job the next day. He already cashed the insurance check to do the solar panels. I told him I would not pay the $580 charge above the deductible because we never agreed to that. I told him I would pay the amount we agreed on. He then stopped messaging and at 7:48am today he said he would only do the job if I pay him by 8am. I did not even see the message until afterwards because I was at work. He then messaged saying he will not do the work. I have been waiting for these panels to be done for a month now. Instead he cashed the check and refused to finish the work.

Homeowner has been very suspicious and indecisive about the solar panels. She wanted solar panels added to her existing system. The solar company came out and did a site visit that involved engineering and permitting for the new panels which was the additional cost. The homeowner was aware of which is the $580.00 charge to which she refers to in the complaint.  The homeowner then decided she did not want the panels added to the existing system. The solar company that detached the existing system did not want to deal with the homeowner anymore as they felt her motives were untrustworthy and would not pay the bill to the solar company for the new installation of panels. The homeowner then decided she did not want to install the existing system back on the residence. There was still a small balance left after the credit was given when she decided not to reinstall the system. She refused to pay the balance due which was a portion of her deductible. She then reached back out weeks later to have the system reinstalled. We found a different solar company to install the solar panels. We requested that she pay her bill in order to get these installed as she had been not communicating with us on the balance due on her account.  We have reached out to the solar company to get the reinstallation date of the panels.

I never refused to pay. I asked for the invoice and they refused to send it and now they are calling me about my review. They want me to take it down for them to do the work.

Our roof was replaced in 2020. This year we have had a leak and called for repair. 1st guy came out n caulked a solar tube near the leak (they did not install this tube). After a second leak guy put Roofing cement around tube, still leaked. Did a water test (they didn't bring a hose) test took about 10 minutes using a leaking borrowed hose. No leak was found. They said they could do no more for us.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/11/18) */ Homeowner has been out of warranty since March of 2021. States that we did not install the solar tube but is blaming us for the leaks? Also states in her google review that we came out immediately even with her being out of warranty to help after two hurricanes came through the area. We explained to the homeowner that Hurricanes can blow water in all different directions and cause water to come in through vents and other ways. We water tested to make sure there were no active leaks and could not find any active leaks. She said she was worried about mold issues and we offered to spray in the attic and ceiling at our cost to help her but she was reluctant. The google review is below with her saying that the roof leaked after the storms and that we came out immediately. Here is google review she posted Had a new roof installed in 2020. Roof had leaked during storms Ian and Nicole. Called secured roofing and they came out immediately twice and did a water test. I am worried about mold but they did not find anything and that's all they will do. Not happy with how they left the problem Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/11/26) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I have live in my house for 17 yrs. We have had several hurricanes and there were no leaks on old roof and it had /the solar tube. New roof was put on in 2020. Since then , has had 2 leaks with the hurricanes Ian and Nicole. I called Secured Roofing because they are listed as Restorationj. I never asked them to cover it under the warranty. They sent out two guys to do a water test. They arrived with No hose. They used my hose which I informed them it had a hole in it and it wasn't very long. How much pressure could my hose produce to simulate a hurricane. I have water stains on my ceiling. They wanted to spray it but that wouldn't fix the leaks problem. 2 times they stated they calked around solar tube. First time after Ian, it didn't stop the leak. I do not feel they fixed the problem. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/12/08) */ The roof made it through 3 Florida storm seasons with no issues. Two hurricanes cut across the state within a couple months. There was no charge to the homeowner and we did not find an active leak. The homeowner can call another company to come out. We can't fix something we can't find. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/12/10) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) There is an obvious leak during storms after they installed the new roof. I expected the water test to be a little more forceful than just lightly spraying a hose on roof. Something from different angles and harder. I still have water stains on ceiling so there is definitely a leak. I will call someone else to fix the leak as secured roofing cannot.

6/2/2020 we contracted with Secured roofing to replace damaged roof. The roofers replaced the dryer vent but failed to connect it to the exit pipe from dryer. We did not know until we just had dryer vent cleaned and the test for heat roof vent did not have hot air exit through the roof vent. We contacted Secured Roofing to come hook up the pipe to the roof vent on 8/30 and an employee came out but could not fit into the space to hook up pipe. Said he would have a smaller person come out. To date we have made nearly daily phone attempts to get someone to fix their error. This is a fire hazard and we are worried about fire starting. Our gas lines run in the attic also. Dangerous situation for us.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/15) */ A couple things to lead off with here. The roof is out of warranty and the homeowner had someone else working on the vents after we replaced the roof. The work that was done after us could have caused the issue at hand. With this being said and knowing this we did go to the property to try and help. Our superintendent could not fit in the space at the time so we have been working to get someone out there that could fit. We were scheduled to go a couple days this week and have had to unfortunately cancel do to weather delays on other builds. We are scheduled to be at the home this afternoon. Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2022/09/19) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) They did finally come out on 9/14/22 and put tape around the vent pipe so it is properly vent air out the roof dryer vent. There was no indication from the company that we were out of warranty after only one year. This company has put new roofs on many homes in the area and hope they completed their job on the other homes.
