Something is going on here. The shuttle does not come to *** on a ***** minute schedule. The phone number to call for ready when pick up is delayed and then is in Spanish. The number on the website is all automated where eventually you get to a customer service rep and they ask you which site you booked it on. When I tell them it was the company's own, the give me another number to call instead. one was an 813 area code number that didn't work. The next time was a 905 number which i immediately searched and found was in *******, ******. I called that number and nobody picked up, so it went to a voicemail box which then told me it was full.We drove by the place with a rental car from a major brand service and it looked totally suspect. I'm not even trying to get a refund on the booking. I just want to make sure they don't say we took the care and did something with it. I sent an e-mail to cover it for now, but will try the ******* number again.I was completely mislead by the professional looking website which said car rental AT the airport. it's 2.5 miles away.-****Review from Andre J

This company is a total rip off very bad customer service and full of lies. I noticed something was wrong when the shuttle van pull up to the off airport location site in ***************. Groups of people were just standing outside. So when I got inside the office waiting on line I noticed again people at the counter were just canceling the reservation. Now I finally get to the counter and I have all my documents in order. This guy behind the counter tells me their's a $2,500 deposit to rent the car. Pure B.S. I've never heard of that. The most that was held for deposit was either $250- $500 for a rent. I tell him I'm renting the car for 3days not buying it. So I canceled grab my documents and walked out but when I look in the back of garage they had NO vehicles to rent. Just be honest and give the customers notice so they didn't waste time coming there, plus at the late night hours. This was the worstReview from Closeitdown D

Booked 3 months in advance to wait in line for 2 hours with only 5 parties in front of me. When it was my turn , the young lady, ********, said my reservation expired an hour ago and I could not get a car. Mind you , I was traveling alone with my child and had been waiting in line for 2 hours. She didn't offer a refund or assistance to help make a new reservation. Took a Lyft to the hotel at 1am!!Review from Mohamed M

Scenario: I am a ******** citizen flying from ******** to *******. At the airport, I picked up a car rental that I reserved online from a ************* Upon arrival, I provided a ******** passport, driver's license, and credit card that I used to make the booking and provide car rental insurance. The person at the counter told us that the credit card only provides collision Damage coverage CDW, not liability coverage. However according to the policy of the company. Liability coverage is only required for US residents. I asked if she could please analyze the policy Below provided to me upon reservation and tell me if paying for this insurance was Mandantoy. Whether I choose to pay for this extra coverage or not depends on my comfort level with assuming liability without it. Supposinily If I am confident in my existing coverage or am willing to take the risk, I may choose to decline the ********************************* However, the rental company FORCED me to pay for this insurance and charged me for it. They won't give me the car that I reserved and paid fully for and kept me waiting in the office for 3 HOURS. I got humiliated and exhausted trying to discuss the policy as a NON-US resident and calling customer service with no response. I was forced to agree, as a tourist in a foreign country who wanted to rest after travel and didn't know any other means of transportation during my trip. Their Policy: US RESIDENTS: Must use their own TPL + CDW. To use renter's own insurance, the renter must provide us with proof of valid and collectible TPL + CDW in renter's own name ******************************** (SLI) is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily charge. If accepted, SLI, provides the renter and authorized drivers with up to $1,000,000 combined single limit for third party liability claims. There is extra an additional and mandatory charge from $19.99 per day for Supplemental Liability (SLI) - subject to vehicle modelReview from P. P.

One of the worst rental car companies I have ever dealt with. I reserved a car with York in Feb 23 and made a call about a week before my trip to confirm my insurance with USAA would cover a rental car. I was told by the agent that yes, USAA was a very good company and I would have no issues. When I arrived at the location, I noticed the business was also known as NextCar and have since found out they go a 3rd name as well. I ended up having to pay an additional $270 for collision coverage, which I feel was not necessary, since I had coverage for rental cars. The people with this company told me the fee was non-refundable. Do not rent from any of these companies I mention above. Read other reviewsYork Car Rental Response

As we discussed in a previous email, when you get to the counter our rental agent explained to you that your insurance from USAA only had Liability and Comprehensive coverage. according to the proof you show to her. She explained in order to rent a car with us you will need to purchase collision coverage. The collision coverage that you purchased at the office is non-refundable.Customer Response

I don't care what we discussed in a previous email. My point is you people scam your customers if they fail to bring the proof of personal insurance with them when picking up a car. No where in your website does it indicate that when making a reservation. And the fact that your agent "explained in order to rent a car with us you will need to purchase collision coverage" did me no good. I attempted to call USAA from your office but it was too early and no reps were available. But, I was able to reach them later that morning and they sent me details of my policy, which included collision. So, since I did have full coverage, I believe you at least should credit me for the rental, save one day.Review from Elizabeth O

I normal don't write reviews but YORK RENTAL Scammed us at the Orlando location. Feels like they have something fraudulent going on as every customer ahead of us in line seemed to had a horrible experience like us. Long story short we were unable to get a car here due to over charges. Lost our $150 payed in advance...The next day we went to ************* and managed to get a car for $140 without any issues or over payment. Save your self the head ache!!!! DONT GO TO YORK rental! I wouldn't trust any of their locations .York Car Rental Response

We apologize for the inconvenience at the time of being in the office, but it is important that clients read the terms and conditions when making their reservation. Security deposit is required at the time of picking up the vehicle. Each rental company has its own terms and conditions.Review from John K

Felt like the whole experience was a fraud. We paid for the car several weeks ahead by credit card to reserve the car and save money, a Toyota Carolla. When we got to the counter they wouldn't take my American Express credit card, So my wife offered her Visa Card ,and to use it she would have to become a driver which we would have to pay an addition $176,00. They said to bring our insurance policy to prove it would cover the car which I did . They looked at it for 3 seconds and said I had to buy theirs from some guy set up on the sidewalk with a card table, that would have cost around $375.00. Then they didn't have the car we reserved. They only had an SUV to give me at an addition charge of $375.00 .So my rental car went from $446.87 to $1372.87. Needless to say we left. Every other customer there was experiencing the same thing. Unfortunately some were elderly and from a foreign country and with young children and didn't have oppitions. It was a horrible experience !!!!!York Car Rental Response

We are sorry for the inconvenience upon your arrival, but in our terms and conditions that clients agree to have read before confirming the reservation, it is clearly stated that we DO NOT ACCEPT American Express cards. A responsible reading of the terms and conditions would have avoided the inconvenience.
