I paid for a 12 month subscription for 12 boxes up front due to a discount. After one year They charged me full price for another years worth of boxes without notifying me before hand. I thought I was buying 12 boxes and only wanted 12. Every subscription I have tells you when your account is going to renew so at least I can take care of it then and cancel if I want, but I got NOTHING telling me I was about to be charged nearly $500 for another year. The account information in my online account did not show the account was recurring. It specially stated 12 boxes, so it looked like it would stop after 12 boxes. I contacted the company right away to advise I do NOT want another year of boxes and offered to return the one they had just sent or pay for that one if I must but cancel the rest and they refused. There is NO reason for this. These boxes are not worth $40 in my opinion and come with many repeat products I dont need. The company is shady for not telling me my account was going to be charged and then refusing to cancel the remaining 11 boxes. I even checked my spam/junk folders and I have not gotten anything from them. Cancel my subscription and refund me please.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: It does not address the complaint. My account online did not show it was recurring. It listed 12 boxes, as shown in my original attachment. Additionally, I was not notified the account was about to renew so that I could take action prior to renewal and cancel it. This is standard procedure for every other subscription I have. I always get an email letting me know my renewal is upcoming and my account will be charged. I received nothing from Paradise Delivered. I agreed to pay for the box they already shipped as a courtesy, but I do NOT want 11 more boxes and I see no reason for them to cancel them and refund me for the boxes not shipped. This is bad customer service and not ethical.

They are referencing a PayPal dispute I filed that is not taking into consideration my actual complaint, which is why I filed this one. They are ignoring the facts I have provided. I will appeal with PayPal if needed but I was hoping the company would have decency and provide good customer service for their lack of proper communication.
When I checked my account on their website it showed that I prepaid for 12 boxes, and does not mention it is a recurring subscription. I provided a screenshot. Which implies I am only going to receive 12 boxes!
Additionally, this is the only subscription I have had that did not even notify me in advance that it was about to renew and charge me nearly $500 dollars. I checked all of my email folders and they said nothing so that I would not know it needed cancelled. If they had done that, I would have cancelled before the subscription renewed.Lastly, refusing to refund me for boxes they have not even shipped is bad business and unethical considering they did not even notify me it was going to renew. They are refusing to acknowledge their mistakes and lack of proper communication and ethics.

I am rejecting this response because: I do not agree with the PayPal decision as already stated, because it is not considering the facts I provided. My online account did not state it would be recurring and I was not even notified by paradise delivered that this subscription was about to renew. I am asking for a refund of products you have not even sent me. I am hoping at some point I receive good customer service and you actually consider the information presented and refund my money and do not ship any additional boxes. I will also appeal with PayPal if needed but I hoped that you would comprehend the information I am providing and have an ethical response and provide good customer service.

In reply to your email, I have not heard from the business since rejecting the complaint the second time. They keep saying the same thing but no one is addressing the facts I presented or explaining why they refuse to cancel and refund a subscription for products they havent even shipped me and I dont want.Business response

I have apparently exceeded my time frame to escalate with PayPal while going this route. I am not sure what information you need from PayPal? None of them are addressing that I was not notified prior to the subscription being renewed and its very frustrating. PayPal didnt give reasoning why they upheld it either in regards to me not knowing it would renew. The whole reason I use PayPal is for buyer protection but they seem to have failed in this case so I guess I wont do that anymore. Is there a manager or some way to escalate with paradise delivered to get someone that will actually address my complaint which was that my online account on their website did not show it was recurring, and I did not receive any emails letting me know the subscription was going to renew or I would have cancelled it. Last year I paid for a full year of boxes. Out of nowhere they just charged my account for another full year and I do not want the boxes. I emailed 5 times and they are saying they refuse to make it right and refund so they said they hope I enjoy a year full of boxes that I do not want shipped to me and told them. We are sorry that ****************** is not happy with her renewal to Paradise Delivered. As per the information on our website, unless otherwise marked by the subscriber, all of our subscriptions auto renew. Prior to the renewal, ****************** was sent an email from Paradise Delivered reminding her of the renewal and offering both a 20% discount and a free box, for renewing her 12-month subscription. At that time she could have canceled herself or reached out to customer service to take care of that for her. She did not do either. Upon renewing ***** did receive both a 20% discount and the extra box added to her account. In addition, she was given an additional 10% discount (refunded directly to her card on file). I did a trail subscription box service at a discounted rate well over a year ago. I did not like the service, the items that came were not as described or worth the value they placed on them, so I canceled at the end of my subscription over a year ago. Now a year later I noticed a charge for $224 on my bank statement and had to research who that unauthorized charge was coming from. It came from Maggie Mae LLC, which is affiliated with Paradise Delivered. I reached out by email as there were no phone numbers to call. I was told that I didn't cancel my subscription, that I had just put it on hold. So now a year later and without notice, they charged me up front for 6 months. I refused the first package upon delivery, and reachout out immediately trying to get my money back. They are refusing and telling me that I had to cancel 23 days prior to renewal if I wanted to cancel. I told them, I never aggreed to a renewel. I was not notified I would continue to be charged for a monthly service. I haven't been charged for the last 12 months. This charge is totally out of the blue, was not agreed to and I've been told that I have no recourse. I was told I was welcome to keep the boxes as they come the next 6 months, but I cannot have a refund.Business response

I purchased a monthly subscription box from Paradise Delivered based on the photos that they send out on their website. When I got the box, it was certainly not as good as it appeared on their website. The items were very cheap and most of them were geared towards young children. I contacted the company and told them I wanted to cancel my subscription. They informed me that I was not allowed to cancel the subscription and I would have to keep getting the remainder of my boxes. I have expressed to them multiple times that I no longer want those boxes and I want my money back because they have never sent anything in their boxes that look remotely close to what they pictured on their website. They have false advertising on their website and I do not want their boxes sent to my house anymore. It is all a bunch of junk.Business response

We are sorry to hear that ******* was not happy with some of the items in her Paradise Delivered boxes. We always want our subscribers to be able to enjoy the products they receive. ********** that ******* sent an email to the Paradise Delivered customer service team, on June 30th and September 15th, her emails were addressed/answered the same day. Each time she was asked specifically which products she didn't like and was offered the opportunity to go to the Paradise Delivered shop and choose products she would like that we would send to her. We did not receive an email response from ******* to either of the emails we sent to her in response to the emails she sent us. (answers sent to ******* attached).
As previously offered, we would be happy to have ******* choose some products she would enjoy from the Paradise Delivered shop.

I'm looking for a resolution with the company called Paradise Delivered out of Boca Raton, Florida. I canceled my yearly membership the day I saw it trying to go through my bank account. It was an auto renew for a full year subscription which is 12 months of boxes(one per month). I tried contacting them for 5 days to make sure they got my email cancelation and that I wanted a refund for the $229. These boxes have NOT shipped and can certainly be canceled and refunded. This company emailed back finally and are refusing to refund my money. I do not want this subscription and considering they haven't sent anything(not even the first box) there is no reason why they can't cancel and refund my money. They are being greedy and completely unhelpful and unprofessional. I would like my $229 refunded back!Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/10) */ Paradise Delivered is sorry to hear about *****'s experience; however, in checking our customer service email we see that each time ***** emailed she was answered in 24-60 hours (correspondence attached).It was explained that, unless marked otherwise by the subscriber, Paradise Delivered is an auto-renewing subscription and *****'s 6-month subscription renewed on December 1st. We have reached out directly to *****, via email, to offer a resolution to this matter. It's unfortunate that it took the BBB to get involved in order for them to cancel the subscription. They told me twice prior (screenshotted email) that they would not cancel and refund my money. Thank you BBB for stepping in.
