Dec 20, 2022 Overcharged $3,450.00 Inv.#**** On the morning of Nov 23, 2022. Water seeped into my apartment from the adjacent apartment. The cause-A bathtub overflow. An area of carpet 16 ft x 3 ft along the wall got wet. The carpet was raised up, a box fan was placed directly onto the carpet. Using a box fan and opening the doors and windows, I knew this would be sufficient to dry out the small area of carpet that was damp. I closed the door to my apartment and proceeded to *********************** to embark on a 3 week's trip to ************* notified the building manager of the damp carpet. She investigated the issue and told me that I would have to e-sign a document allowing Servpro in my apartment to access the situation. Servpro would notify me of the situation, and give me an estimate. Additionally, while away, I had arranged to have neighbors and the building manager check on the situation in my unit. Here is what I was advised about Servpros work and what I observed in my unit upon returning from my trip:The carpet was dry, the de-humidifier was shut off and all windows were open. A red light was flashing on the dehumidifier indicating the dehumidifier had been running with the windows open. The carpet was damp only one foot from the adjoining unit wall.A glass louver vent window of the front door was detached from the door and left hanging.Blood droplets were found on the wood parkay floors. The carpet was crumpled throughout the living room and not disposed of as indicated for debris disposal. The baseboard molding on the other side of the apartment along the kitchen was removed, not the baseboard on the wall where the water intrusion occurred.Half the carpet lining was removed. The parkay wood flooring was not wet, nor was it damaged. In addition to the fact that Servpro never provided an estimate for the work and approval was not extended by me, the work done was incomplete, inadequate, unworkmanlike, and unprofessional. Regards,*****
