I received a quote from Aaron for $8k to replace roof on a 3br/1ba 900 square ft home. In the quote also was that extra woodwork could be an additional charge. Now a good bit of the ceiling on the inside of the home was missing so you could see right into the rafters and everything. Once the job is complete Aaron hands me a invoice for $10,500 which is a 31% increase from the original quote and says he told me the final price could be higher than originally quoted. I understood that but how he could go up 31% has left me dumbfounded b/c like I said a good bit of the ceiling was missing on the inside so you could see exactly what needed to be done. They also charge me $125/ piece of wood when only cost them $45 per. They are absolutely price gouging people on a daily basis. they aren't using any special material or wood that other roofers aren't using. I have been trying to get this resolved for the last 2 months. Based on the original quote of $8000 and the final invoice of $10500 I offered to pay $9500 to close this out and both parties move on but all I get are crickets from them. I have other documents you may need that are available upon request.....thank you.

Business Response /* (1000, 13, 2022/05/02) */ ***Document Attached*** I met with ****** ******** on Dec. 30th around 3 o’clock to walk the house and go over anything that may be of concern or any additional information that I would need to put the quote together. We went inside the house and looked at the area that he pointed out in his complaint. This was in the kitchen that was approximately 8’x15’. I told ****** while standing in the kitchen that I would include $2,000.00 in the quote for this area. that would cover any rafter repair and decking in this area. He agreed and then I went on to ask if there were any other areas that he had any noticeable leaks at. His response to this was no. I then went on to say that there could still be additional woodwork other than the area above the kitchen and that it would be an additional charge. Again, he agreed to this, and we moved on. Once the shingles were removed and we found that there was woodwork that needed to be fixed on the front of the house as well as in the back. The damage to the front of the house was located at the bottom of the roof stretching the full length of the house as well as an area above the car port. In the back of the house the damaged extended in both directions away from the kitchen 10’-15’ more than what was visible in the kitchen where the missing sheet rock was. This job took 1 full day plus 2 hours or so the following day to finish with 8 guys on the crew working. Realistically the job should have only taken 6 hours or so to complete if it was not in the shape that it was in. I know that this house was supposed to be a fix up and sell for ****** since that is the line of work that he is in. I hate that he bought a house that needed more repairs than what he anticipated, but at the end of the day that is not my problem, and we have to be paid for the work that we preformed. I can send in documents for the woodwork performed, pictures, as well as emails sent between both parties. Thank You Aaron Haag Charles T Sapp Roofing Contractors Inc.
