I am writing to file a formal complaint against Universal Flooring Solutions regarding a recent service agreement that has left my spouse, ***************************, and myself, *****************************, deeply dissatisfied and out of pocket. Our agreement with Universal Flooring Solutions, entered into on November 14, 2023, outlined specific tasks including the preparation of our floor surface for epoxy installation, the installation of epoxy coating, the ordering and installation of a 3D graphic design, and the application of an epoxy top coat. The total cost of the job was quoted at $2,450 of which we submitted a 50% deposit totaling $1,225. Since initiating the agreement, Universal Flooring Solutions has consistently failed to uphold their end of the bargain. The technician assigned to our project- *****- has repeatedly demonstrated incompetence, arriving late or failing to show up entirely on numerous occasions. Midway through the process, we escalated our concerns to the attention of the manager, *******, who assured us that the job could still be completed to our satisfaction. But the quality of work has only deteriorated further, with bubbling in the floor surface, messy and uneven edges, and an overall unsatisfactory outcome.Despite our attempts to communicate our grievances and seek resolution, Universal Flooring Solutions has been unresponsive. Multiple attempts to reach them via phone and their text system have been met with silence, leaving us with no avenue for recourse. As a result of their incompetence and disregard for their contractual obligations, we are now faced with the additional financial burden of rectifying the substandard workmanship in our home. We formally request the intervention of the Better Business Bureau to assist us in recovering our deposit of $1,225. Not only has Universal Flooring Solutions failed to deliver on their promises, but they have also left us in a position where we must incur further expenses to rectify their mistakes.Customer response

The owner of the company called directly to us, very upset that we filed this complaint. She asked if we are willing to "remove complaint" if she gives us our deposit back. We said, that once the issue is resolved we will notify the BBB about resolution of the problem, but she was not happy about it. She asked to submit in writing that we are willing to remove the complaint if she pays back. This conversation was very unpleasant, felt like a blackmail. We asked not to call us directly anymore, and return the deposit we paid, because her company messed up the project, abandoned it. We did not heard anything from them since.
