We hired Rich at RKS Handyman Services to remodel our master bathroom. He said it would be 4-5 days. After 5 weeks it still wasn't done. Rich said he needed money to meet payroll and we gave him payment in full because he said he'd finish in a day or 2. We never saw him again. He didn't answer his phone. The floor, painting, and electrical were not done. As we were looking for a contractor to finish the project we noticed water under the flooring in our closet. It turns out when they plumbed the water to the shower they left a steady drip inside the wall. We called a licensed plumber out to take care of it and he said that RKS did not properly attach the water supply lines. We have water flooding in 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, and the master closet. So now besides having to hire a contractor to finish the work that RKS stopped, we have to move water-damaged flooring, wall, and the California Closet system as well as hiring a moisture remediation company. Wait, it gets better! It turns out that RKS is not licensed to do plumbing or electrical work - even though they say they are. Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation has opened an investigation. Also, we have filed a lawsuit against them for shawty work and conducting business without proper licenses. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!!Initial Complaint

In January 2022 I accepted an estimate from RKS Handyman Services to inspect and repair some roof decking and shingles. The cost was $2550 plus materials. They performed the work on February 24 and I paid them in full when the work was completed. I was given a 1 year guarantee on the work. They worked into the evening on the 24th so agreed to return the next day to clean up the area and collect their ladders. Although we corresponded about it, they didn't return. On March 10 I contacted Rich S*******, owner of RKS, to let him know that the roof was leaking into the house in the places that he repaired. I sent photos of the damage and he agreed to come out that weekend to correct the repair. We communicated via text regularly with him promising to come out the next day or by the weekend and finally on March 23rd I informed Rich that mold was growing where the water damage was in the ceiling and walls inside the house. After several more weeks of promises to come and make the repair he came by on April 4. He re-tarred the shingles and apologized saying that the re-tarring should have been done the day after the original repair in February. He then cut out a section of the ceiling drywall where the mold was growing so that everything could dry out. I contacted them again on April 7 to say that there continued to be a leak. I continued to follow up with Rich and his assistant Kay regarding his return to repair the work. I continued to get reasons & excuses to explain the delay. He finally agreed to May 16 to make the repair. This was to be a firm date because he was starting another project. He never arrived.
