I rented a room from plaza hotel Fort Lauderdale from the 16th to the 17th, and from the 17th to the 18th. There is a $100 deposit on top of the price of the room that should be refunded upon check out. Jun 18th. 2024, and placed back on my card within 3-5 business days. I was given a confirmation num ****** and told that they released my funds. When I call chase bank they see nothing from Plaza hotel. Only from Extended Stay where I stayed prior to that. Everytime I call plaza hotel to ask about my deposit, they hung up on me after being very rude. I had to have my significant other call to get the information from them. I just want to know where my money is, if they don't have it and the bank don't have it where is it? Can you please help me to get my $100 deposit back.Initial Complaint

On May 5 I stood at the plaza hotel as soon as I checked in, was told it was no hot water as I proceeded to my room and to put my things away I seen a *****. I thought it was just one happen to run under the mini fridge raider I moved a mini refrigerator, and there was a group of roaches in the corner of the dresser Under the dresser, there was a lot more roaches the beds had burn marks the sheets were dirty and ripped. The second bed was broken. ******** was completely sunken in on the right hand side. I just want my money back this place shouldnt be open anymore. Thank you. My confirmation number is 373871-8582.I have video also if needed I also let front desk know and he stated he was sorry and they didnt have other rooms available also I payed via affirm so I would like them to pay them offInitial Complaint

On Feb 18th, I checked into the Plaza hotel with my family. I figured there couldn't be much harm as it was for 1 night. Big mistake! The first floor looked like an ordinary motel. The other floors were gloomy. Our floor smelled like urine, mildew and mold and the hallways literally had 13 gallon garbage bags outside the doors making it smell worse. We never got to open the room door as the key card wasn't working (took it as a sign from God considering that there were 3 ppl who were sketchy and stood close by our door) but our kids did go into their room which they said was falling apart and they were afraid of putting anything down as they feared bugs crawling on it. We didn't last 10 min and we were told we would get a refund. We followed up several times and was told a refund would be issued once we got it in writing and the hotel refunded the virtual credit card. I worked in travel for 8yrs and never had my customers deal with this distress especially with proof. Booking.com has audio recordings confirming the refund and yet nothing has been done from both ends. I told booking.com they should remove this property as it is a health risk as well as safety. There were several cop cars outside and were coming in when we were heading back to the front desk. 4 entered the building claiming this was their second time being called bcuz of the disturbance. The front desk attendee laughed and said he understood why we were cancelling and said they wouldn't charge but the refund has to come from booking.com which I called immediately and they were also told a refund would be taking place. It is unfair to have to wait so long for a refund.
