Sod was suppose to be removed and the dirt leveled and replaced with new sod. It didn't look like the old sod was removed. The new sod was installed and it is obviose the dirt was not leveled before the new sod installatiion. Walking across the lawn it is obvious with all the divits it was not leveled. Terry had stated the sod will be level with the driveway. It is not...it is higher than the driveway and is unsightly...In addition, it is a safty haszard. It is well above the driveway and curbing on the road. He has been contacted several times about my concerns and offered excusses every time. All I want is to him correct the issue. At this point he is ignoring me. He came highly recommended and I am extremely disappointed...I feel he saw me a a female senior citizen and took advantage.

This is in response to the complaint. The old grass and weeds were roto-tilled. Then we raked out the old debris using garden rakes and leaf rakes. A crew of 5 men spent a few hours raking the dirt, leveling and filling in low spots. We also raked some of the dirt away from the edges to ensure sod would not sit too high along edges. Zoysia sod was then installed throughout the yard and by the drive-way and curbs low enough so that it did not create a hazard as stated, but also so that it can be mowed at the proper height. We have installed a lot of yards in my 39 years of business in the same steps that I used on her yard. There may be a few uneven areas after the sod is installed but it can be from the sod itself or the edges of the sod. These usually disappear after a few months of growth. I did text her about a week ago letting her know that I felt like the edges were fine and that nothing needed to be done. I even took my wife by and she looked at it, and she did not see any problems with it being high as stated. We also took pictures when when we went by to look at the yard. The yard is beautiful. In closing I want her to know that I have always tried to do a great job. If I did not do a good job, then there would be other complaints in all the years that I have been in business. There are no complaints (0 COMPLAINTS) Please think about that.

      Sincerely Terry

      Complaint: 20262605

I am rejecting this response because:In response to Terry's claim:  I requested the old sod to be removed, not roto-tilled in.  If this had been done most likely none of the issues would have happened.  Removing the old sod would have created enough of a void for the new sod to be laid down in its place maintaining the level with the walkway, driveway and curbing.  The dirt was not pulled away from the edges enough and the sod sits way above the edges creating a tripping hazard.  It is also unsightly as you can see in the pictures.  In addition, it is extremely difficult to open the gate because of the height of the sod.  Just because he said the sod is fine doesn't mean it is.  In addition, as you walk across the lawn there are divots because it was not leveled sufficiently.  The sod will not settle because it is on sand.  He has been asked several times to come by so I can show him what I am talking about, but he refuses to meet with me.

      Sincerely,

      Linda *****

By rototilling it , the old grass was removed. thats why we had a small load of old grass and weeds to haul off. And again it was was raked level. There wasnt much grass but alot of weeds to remove. By tilling it which is the best way to prepare the ground. it helps the new sod root easier. Again this yard looks great. Sincerely Terry
