My mother was a resident at Emerald Park Retirement, which is an assisted living facility in *********, **. She had Alzheimer's and set up the monthly rent payments to be made via automatic withdrawal of her checking account. On December 25, 2022 my mother passed away at the facility and her belongings were cleared out. The facility knew she passed away and we checked in with the front desk to see if there was anything we needed to do to and they said no. Then on January 5th ************************************************************************************ the amount of $2,895. Since she passed away over the holidays the bank hadn't received notice yet so her funds were not yet frozen. When I called about the issue, a rep from Emerald Park apologized and said they would get a refund check sent out. It is now May 26th and we have not received the refund, and I have not been able to speak to anyone that can help for several weeks. Nobody calls me back and they stopped answering the phone.
