6/1/22- My brother arrives at tides edge (owned by beaches recovery) for substance abuse detox. 6/8/22- Jax Beaches Police officer Filbert notified my father that my brother was hallucinating and thinking he was at recovery beaches to pick him up. My brother was paranoid about staff at tides edge. After officers met with my brother and had him agree to return to the medically supervised detox center. They refused to let him back inside. Saying he needed a higher level of care than what they could provide. Police did not witness any behaviors that called for the baker’s act, so he was left to the streets. The medical staff and specifically ****** ****** (director of operations) were the ones who witnessed the behaviors and did not attempt to file bakers act. I spoke with the police at 7:21pm I contacted ****** ****** and she explained to me that my brother was seen by a provider 3x that morning complaining that he didn’t feel his medications were right. He was “cleared” by ******* ******* APRN to just be “monitored” and could get a dose of Seroquel. ****** said he was on other medications but did not have them In front of her at that time. ****** stated his behavior with hallucinations, flashbacks, paranoia, and insomnia have been going on for about 12 hours. ****** stated my brother slept from 9am-2pm on 6/8/22 and when he woke up his psychosis was worse, after receiving the Seroquel.he would not be able to return to the facility. She was unable to give me the reason why he would not be able to come back, but she said “a bed would have to be available and it would need to be approved by a provider and administration”.She also stated he refused to return to the facility when she asked him in the emergency room. I reminded her he was in a psychotic state and is unable to answer a question like that until he is coherent.CEO Jim Griffith only deflected any question I had about policy or why this situation happened the way it did.Customer response

The only thing we want Is for my brothers bed to be saved so he can finish the program. Since the medication reaction was no fault of his.Business response
