I had the local Franchise of Gotcha Covered ***** ******* ****** ***** ** ******** ******************* *** come to my home to measure a curtain installation for my porch. This was done back in October 21, 2022. The local Franchise Owner (****** **********) came to my home on October 21, 2022 and took measurements. ****** confirmed that the curtain fabric that he was going to order was in-stock and would ship within 2-3 weeks for installation right around Thanksgiving 2022. The deposit for the fabric/installation was $400.84, which I made on October 21 (my credit card was charged on October 22, 2022). Despite repeatedly calling the local Franchise, including texting the cell phone number (I called both office: ************ and cell phone number: ************) throughout December 2022 and January 2023, I did NOT get a single response regarding the installation date/update. I then called the ************** phone number listed on the Corporate website of Gotcha Covered in mid-January-February 2023 and explained the issue and requested a refund. The Phone Rep took my information, but informed me that they are only an answering service working on behalf of Gotcha Covered and could not connect me with a Manager to speak to. During one of my calls (Feb 6) to the ************** number , I was told that Gotcha Covered (Corporate office) had issues with connecting to the Franchise office in ******** ****** ** (did not get a response from the office). It is now almost mid-February 2023 and I still have not heard back from Gotcha Covered and am out of $400.84 and never received my porch curtain installation. I am requesting a refund of my deposit from Gotcha Covered. Kind regards,Initial Complaint

On 9/27/2022 I met with the owner, ****** *********, to get a quote on blinds. He was very thorough and explained everything and I was impressed. I decided to go with his quote and mailed a check for the deposit of $1062.96 on 10/01. I texted him and said check was on the way. NO RESPONSE. On 10/13, I texted and asked if he recd the check and if the order was placed. (We were wanting our blinds before Thanksgiving). NO REPLY. On 10/17. I texted and asked to please let me know if he recd the check and we needed the blinds before Thanksgiving. NO REPLY. On 10/21 he called and said that he had been injured and that he was incoherent and could not respond. He would send the invoice to sign and would place the order and that I should have them by Thanksgiving. On 10/22 I reminded him to send the invoice to sign. He sent it, I signed, sent it back and he received it. NO RESPONSE. I texted on 11/15 to follow up and again on 11/29 asking for status. During this time I was calling the corporate office and the scheduling office trying to get in touch with him. I even contacted the manufacturer to see if the order had been placed but they could not find an order for me. I saw that the check was cashed on 11/23. On 11/30 he texted and said that he believed our blinds were in his warehouse and that he was in ******** with his 8year old who was in a hospital and just returned and that he was having staff issues. I replied with very strong text about his communication. On 12/6 I texted again asking where our blinds were. He immediately responded that he could install on 12/22 or 12/23 if that would work. I told him that was good. He then responded and said he will reconfirm before. On 12/21 I texted to confirm appointment and again on 12/22. NO RESPONSE. On 12/30 I texted that he had 10 days to return my deposit. NO RESPONSE and his website now states the business is permanently closed. I am a senior citizen who has been scammed.Initial Complaint

On September 2nd 2022, I placed an order with Gotchya Covered of the Beaches from ****** ********* to install a remote skylight cover. I was told, by ****** ********* it would cost $1045.98, it would take 4-6 weeks and put down a deposit of $627.59 the same day. By November 5th I sent an email requesting a refund as I had received no return contact about my order despite all the emails and messages I'd left. ****** ********* responded to this with a text from a cell phone (+***********) November 10th, and apologized saying there had been family troubles. Not being heartless I said I'd continue to wait if they would communicate and have the order completed before christmas. He agreed to do it on December 22nd. Once again, every email, call and text was ignored when I'd ask to confirm the installation date. On December 22nd, when it became clear the installer wasn't going to show, I went to the "office" to discover it was a house. ****** *********s wife answered when I knocked and she kindly apologized for her husband, saying his PTSD makes him shut down during stress. I empathize as I am a Veteran as well. We made an agreement that I would wait till the 8th of January 2023 to contact them if he didn't reach out sooner as to not disturb the holidays. Unfortunately, I've been unsuccessful in having professional communication with this company. Im now hoping the BBB can assist me in resolving this issue so it doesn't need to go to court. Id either like a full refund of my deposit, or the materials I've paid for and ill seek a different installer.
