Ok Military and DOD Civilians if you are on Military ORDERS to another country do not finance with this bank Coastline Federal Credit Union will not honor the Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act of ****. I am on orders to go overseas and reached out to Coastline for a lien lease letter that enables me to bring my vehicle from the US to my overseas assignment. I spoke to two people explaining what I was trying to accomplish. My account is in great standing I have never missed a payment and they tell me that they do not let their vehicles leave the US because they don't know how to recover them if someone does not pay. So, they have my orders, income, car insurance and registration. I informed them of the ACT and told them that what they were doing was not fair and not legal. They responded that their legal team stated that it is ok for them to do this and then the representative stated, "that if we do it for one, we have to do it for all". A representative called me this morning to discuss the situation and I told her that I would report this to the BBB because this company does not support military service members nor DOD civilians. The representative then stated that the company does support the military. I informed the representative that if the company did support the military, then we would not be having this conversation and that I have no choice where the military puts me and that I would be reporting this to the BBB. If you are a military vet, civilian, retired, active duty, reserve, national guard or DOD do not have them finance your vehicle because if you got to go overseas you will not be able to take it. USAA will have you up and going in a couple of hours.
