On December 10th my car wouldn't start so I had it towed to Real Steel automotive on Beach Boulevard. He ultimately had it for almost 8 weeks and charged me $4,000. I took the car from his shop on February 2nd and drove it to another shop because, not only is it not fixed, it drives much worse than before I brought it to him. My minimum request from him is a full refund of the $4,000 I paid him because he didn't fix my car and I am going to end up paying even more to this second shop when they fix what he broke. During this 8 weeks that he had my car there were many promises made by him that were never honored. Just about every time he said he would be done, or call me back with information, a full day or more would go by without a call from him and I would have to call and find out what was happening. Not only that, but the initial repair he said needed to be done, which cost $3,500, took 5 weeks to complete and when I went to pick it up, because he said it was completed, as soon as I drove away I noticed that the engine was running rough and then the check engine light came on. I brought it right back to him but he told me to go ahead and take it for the weekend while he ordered a part, and to bring it back in a few days when the part came in. That part didn't fix the problem so he charged me another $523 for a completely different part, which still didn't fix the problem. The final thing that pushed me over and caused me to lose my patience with him was when he told me on Saturday January 29th that he was sure he would be done by Monday. He didn't call Monday, he didn't call Tuesday, so on Wednesday afternoon I retrieved my car.Business response

Subject: Re: BBB Complaint ********/Final NoticeHi,
Customer towed he's disabled vehicle to perform diagnose to the engine. our technician discovered the engine was seriously overheated due to no coolant in the system, and have only 30PSI on each cylinder witch minimum is 190PSI. we gave the customer two option, replace engine or fix that one, but if he chooses to fix the one it will be not guaranty that some other issues may pop up because we didn't know how bad the customer overheated the vehicle or if engine had previous issues due the age and high miles of the vehicle. Also, customer never told us the real truth of what happened. We also told him that we don't have any control of machine shop company of when they will deliver the head back to us. It took us more than what we expected due to other issues that came out after the engine was assembled. customer is lying about ( it drives much worse than before I brought it to him.) because the vehicle was disabled and towed in. we were trying to fix a separate issue that came up free of charge, but the customer was impatience and picked up the car. car is running find, just have Rought idle. it will be not refund because all the work perform was done correctly, and have 1 year warranty on all parts that we installed including labor.
NOTE: The warranty will be void if someone else other them our shop removed any parts that we installed.
Thanks BBB for your help.
