On 2024-09-24 I received an automated quote for $14K for a re-roof. On 2024-09-27 I then received the true quote for $28K plus $300 per solar panel for removal. With 50 panels that is $15K. Other roofing companies quote $5K to $6K for this. Extortion.Review from Thomas J

I called E2 roofing for a discussion on their services on 27 Nov 23 to consider their services and requesting to lower their down payment requirement to $0 since I was paying cash. Casey and then roofing director Heather acted like I was asking for their first born. After an unproductive and condescending conversation with Heather, I declined to schedule an appointment since they insisted on 30% down. Out of the blue, the next evening on 28 Nov the "owner" felt a need to call me to rehash the original call... for her own satisfaction and "to tell me how it is" regarding poor Heather's and Casey's feelings were hurt. What professional conduct by Elizabeth. Again I offered Elizabeth my $0 down payment proposal when paying with cash at the conclusion of the roof replacement. Needless to say the owner wasted my time in order to lash out at myself. A totally ridiculous rationale for calling me since no negotiation ensued. This roofing company is clearly lacking in business acumen and especially interpersonal skills with potential customers..Elizabeth Evans Custom Homes Response

**************, I called you out of respect to explain why we as a business collect a down payment for our roofing operations. With every job, we incur an upfront cost for permits, dumpsters, and materials, which is why we require a down payment from our customers. When we concluded our call, I wished you nothing but the best in finding a solution and apologized that we were not the right fit for your company. Again, I will do the same and apologize that we are not the right fit for you and wish you nothing but the best.Review from C. B.

Do not rely on this company for communication or project management. Our 2 week bathroom renovation turned into 3 months due to lack of planning, failed inspections (3 failed), incorrect parts being orders and many other reasons. You will constantly be assured that we will take care of it and then be presented with a change order months later increasing the cost of the project by over 10%, without ever hearing a word about a change order or increase in cost. There will be no communication as to the sub contractors will arrive or what they are expected to complete that day. You will hear that they understand and hear you, and will make sure to work on communication but nothing will change in the months that go by. You will be held up for weeks because there is disagreement as to how much tile is actually needed without anybody actually ever stepping on site to count. They will wait 2+ months to even start making calls and getting on schedules to fix the things they agreed to fix as soon as the project started. This lead to our grass dying because a sprinkler line was cut in early March and they didnt call an irrigation company until the first week in May and were told it would be a month before we could get anybody out. I was able to find a great irrigation company that could come out the next day. Dont trust them to be precise or take pride in their work, you are just another way to make a buck, and they will nickel and dime you.Elizabeth Evans Custom Homes Response

Mr. ******** - We are extremely sorry that we did not meet your expectations. Unfortunately, your project came at a time where we had two key employees submit their resignation to pursue other careers without much notice. This combined with poor performance by subcontractors, who have since been terminated, and material delays and shortages due to the supply chain, led to extensive delays on your project, to which we agree are unacceptable. All issues identified in failed inspections were rectified by our licensed subcontractors and a final CO was achieved, albeit it took much longer than we budgeted, nor what we communicated to you would happen. In an effort to repair the irrigation on your home, we consulted trade partners that we have used in the past and that we trust. Although they were not readily available, we scheduled them to ensure the work was done and were willing to replace any grass that suffered as a result. Again, please accept our apologies for not meeting your expectations on this project.Customer Response

I want to be clear on a few things here. To say crew A was terminated may be true, but that was after 3 failed inspections, then crew B was sent to pass the inspection (which happened without a hitch) then crew A was sent back out to do drywall work, install vanities, etc. If they were terminated it was after all of the items were completed at the house, it was not that they were terminated due to their performance and we never saw them again. Agreed, we are still waiting on doors that are caught up with all of the supply chain issues. However, none of the bathroom delays had to do with supply chain/logistics issues. All of the trim and valves were available via next day shipping on Amazon, the delays were caused by having incompatible valves and trim kits ordered. We had asked for over 2 months to see what our options were so we could make a selection. We weren’t presented options until we were at the point of installing them, which caused further delays. A little foresight and planning would have avoided all of that. In terms of the irrigation, I understand wanting to worth with trusted partners, but why weren’t they contacted in March when this problem came up. Why wait until May to begin making those calls?Elizabeth Evans Custom Homes Response

Mr. Bukowski, Agreed that Crew A was off the job until we passed inspection. We had crew A complete the rest of the work IE: drywall, install vanities, etc because we already had an agreed upon scope with the crew. Typically, a corner vanity is accompanied with a filler piece to push the vanity off the wall and allow correct door spacing. Without the filler there would have been a gap between the cabinet and the wall. The options were the following: -Add filler piece to fill in gapping -cut the cohort top to correctly fit against the wall, but this would create an issue with the door opening and closing -install the vanity against the wall. Additionally, the front and right elevation typically are finished and there are precuts for the faucet. I agree that we should have looked at the vanity in a timelier manner, typically these are non-issues because most vanities come with filler and precuts for the facet. Thank you for your patience and for being one of our customers. Again, we apologize for missing the mark. We are looking forward to finish strong.Customer Response

It continues to be excuses and justification for why things went wrong. It invalidates the earlier comment about the crew being terminated because they were sent back out for additional work after the inspections were passed. As soon as I was notified about the filler piece I had one on site the next day. The hole for the faucet we are working on and will have it taken care of before the plumbers in order to have no additional delays. If we are going to say that vanities typically have holes for faucets, is it typical for your crews to fail 3 inspections? Is it typical for you to order a valve that is incompatible with the shower trim sets? Is it typical for a standard 5’x8’ bathroom remodel to take 3 months?
