I went to visit family in the ********************* complex. I arrived at around 1021 PM and stayed until 1:05 AM. When I went to leave from visiting, there was a boot on my car. I had to miss a days pay because I couldnt leave for work ontime. All because I went to visit my child. I didnt plan to spend the night; I didnt plan to miss work. I am currently assessing my car for further damages to the wheels . What they did was illegal and should not have occurred.Initial Complaint

I have been a tenant of The Bohemian Apartment in **********, **. since 09/10/2022. Over the last few months, the Administration of the Building decided to hire a contractor to deal with the way tenants should park and display their parking information as residents. Since January 2024 they warned me about my car's registration. I told them I provided it before I moved back on September 10th2022. I gave them another copy. Every couple of weeks, they boot my car and always fine me. I have to constantly report it to the administration. They solve it and assume fees. It is insane to be living this experience in a private property rental apartment and parking lot. They are violating my civil rights and I feel harassed.Initial Complaint

On December 9, 2023 I pulled into a parking lot and paid the required parking fee via their app which was posted on a sign. No other legal language other than it being stated that it was a tow away zone was posted. The name of the company that was going to be doing the booting or the towing was not listed. I paid my fee at 3:48 p.m. for 2 hours worth of parking. I returned just a couple of minutes after 5:00 p.m. to find my car had been booted and immobilized. I called the company and they sent a person out. The person said I then had to pay a $65 fee in order to release my car even though I had a paid receipt for my car to be in that spot and had not yet exceeded my legal amount of time. I contacted the company after I paid this fee which was more like extortion and fits the very definition of that word. And they told me that even though I had posted the make, model, state of my license plate, and license plate number, that because due to my visual disability, I selected one letter wrong on the license plate, that they were correct in charging me and they would not refund me the money. As if they would be an identical make and model with merely one letter off on the license plate and that mistake could easily occur? Not to mention there was absolutely no legal language saying that if everything wasn't entered in perfectly that I would be fined and booted. They're legally required to post that. Yet the name of this company and their business practices was not listed anywhere in the premises. And if you go to their website there is no language listed on there stating that if you are visually disabled person and you have a small error when filling out the form, that 95% of it being correct isn't enough and you will be charged. This is extortion and inherently dishonest. I'm essentially being discriminated against because of my disability. They know I have a paid receipt for that parking spot and they are refusing to acknowledge it on a technicality.Customer response

I contacted the company via email to show them my paid receipt for the parking. They said that even though I registered a 2020 ***** CX5 with Florida plates to their website for the parking, that because when I typed in my license plate, I was one letter off, that it does not count as being paid. As if in a lot of only 20 parking spaces there would be another Florida *********************************************************************** one spot? I explained to the man that I have a visual disability that makes reading items on my phone difficult, and that after arriving the lot, there was no other signage or language around other than the sign with the lot number and a ** code to scan to pay (or you can text to pay). If their policy is that if you make one tiny error using the ** code website to pay, that you would be extorted for a Booting fee, it must be posted somewhere. It is not even listed on their website. I asked for the language to be sent to me to show me where it was posted that they could still boot me even after I paid for the spot. They did not respond. This is the very definition of extortion, and it discriminates against those of us with disabilities as the only way to pay was on a cell phone, which I have trouble using other than making calls due to my vision issue. It is not as if I had a laptop handy to pull open the website to see it larger. Common sense shows I paid and that the plate being one letter off (because the * and the * were near each other on the tiny keyboard and I could not tell the difference) should not make a difference. It was clear the spot was paid for by a reasonably prudent person (which is the legal standard). And because no other language was posted, present or accessible stating otherwise, THEY are in the wrong and discriminating against people like myself.Initial Complaint

H my car was incorrectly booted, and this company was subcontract it to complete that request. After attempting to get in contact with my homework association and getting no answer I also reached out to this company and which I was lied to, and told that they would try to reach out to the association also to confirm the information. They stated that I had to wait until Monday, which was not feasible to go a whole weekend without having a car especially because you did nothing to ensue that. He told me I had to wait to hear from the association and I called back to get more information and provide my decal number and just basically get some assistance because a mistake is clearly made the person mustve been having a bad day, because you can hear yelling in the background, which had nothing to do with me. He hung up on my face and threaten me via text saying, but if I didnt pay the fee he was told my car I asked his name and he blocked my number so I called back the 800 number who also hung up in my face so I dont know why these people are in customer service jobs if theyre not going to do anything to attempt customer service.Initial Complaint

South florida booting is harrassing residents in a condo neighborhood by booting vehicles that have been there and have stickers on the dashboard. This company provided the community with a parking pass that we are all supposed to be entered in however, there are constantly gliches and changes that cause known vehicles to get booted. The drivers claim that they drive around and scan all vehicles and if it shows up as abnormal in their parking system, they boot the vehicle. Even if they recognize the vehicle and knows it belongs there. The drivers state that if they don't boot the vehicle they will get in trouble the next day. *** addressed this with the management company who advises they have no control over the company.Initial Complaint

08/30/2022 My assistant had her car towed- 2022-08-30T19:50:34.000Z by an employee named **** (LP#:05B ***, white ****** Tacoma)Despite there not being a sign within ****ft for stated metered parking, of which was confirmed by local law enforcement, I decided to pay the $65 fine. These situations are NEVER worth the headache, especially in the middle of a workday. Within 45 minutes of paying, my assistant calls me: "sucks to be you, you dumb b***h" is heard in the background. My assistant confirms that the driver, **** is verbally abusing her and her mother. My assistant audibly apologizes, stated that she didn't know and won't do it again; the driver **** responded with "oh, that's sweet well GO F**K YOURSELF".Now, I'm in the same business and I am fully aware of how painful the general public can be- especially in bonding, towing, repos, blah blah blah... but this is uncalled for, unprofessional, and regardless of how I feel (because I've been in your shoes and walk in them daily) it's unacceptable. **** ended up destroying the ******** tire on her E300 that I just installed 3 weeks ago, of which I'll pay to replace. It's my company car, again- to file a claim isn't worth the headache. I'll eat the tire. However, I won't allow that level of disrespect towards my employee and her mother to go without resolution. You don't treat good people who accept their mistake and pay, like that. You don't treat women IN GENERAL like that, especially if one is over 65. ****, whoever hurt you dude, seek help or let it go.Life is too short and the people who hired you are good people who singlehandedly cover the county, don't embarrass them anymore than you already have today. I've learned that it ONLY takes one bad employee and one bad decision to ruin generations of handwork and sweat equity. C*** like this destroys family businesses overnight. I'll give it a few days for an apology, really that's all that I ask. No money, no BS, just do the right thing.Initial Complaint
