Aug 2022, we had water damage throughout our home-except the 2 car garage-game room. Paul Davis company took them 4 weeks to extract the water then another 4 months to tell me I had to pay $27,000 before they finish the work. Things that had water damage to it still in the home. My Insurance company did not care what I thought & agreed to what Paul Davis company. I felt like I was being strong armed into paying before anything would be done. I got new people for insurance & restoration, stated Paul Davis was charging $30,000 for the room that was not effected. I have proof from emails & text messages.

Gloria, this was your father's home and involved the entire house.  We have explained this multiple times to you.  You even asked us if we would finance the work to be completed.  That is not something we are able to do. There was extensive damage and mold throughout. Almost all the contents were unsalvageable. Your insurance had a cap of $10,000 for mold coverage. We have no say on what coverage you choose for your policy limits and unfortunately anything not covered by the insurance policy is the homeowner's responsibility. We utilize the same pricing system as the insurance company so we do not inflate the pricing. The only time a homeowner would need to pay out of pocket (besides their deductible) is if the insurance does not cover something or the actual coverage is capped out. Your case involved a mold cap of $10,000.

After extensive conversations with the adjuster, we were able to gain an agreement from your insurance company to move much of the demolition for the home from your mold coverage into your water coverage. That was almost $20,000 that would have been your responsibility on top of the mold remediation still needed. That was part of the 4 weeks you referred to in your comments - it was not just drying out the home.Your insurance company was very accommodating by agreeing to this - they did not have to cover that according to your policy. They also paid $1000 for a protocol from an independent hygienist. The office had multiple conversations with you about what your insurance was covering and that for us to proceed with the actual mold remediation, you would need to pay the portion not covered by the insurance company. I am not sure who you utilized for the mold remediation, but I can assure you that no reputable company would complete the remediation for the amount you are indicating. Make sure you have the home tested when complete as you will need to disclose the mold loss when you sell the home. Unless you can show that it was properly remediated you may bare responsibility since you were informed on how to properly remediate the property. The whole house was not a total lost. The two car garage was not effected. Yes who I chose, did recheck everything and it was less than you had quoted me. Everything they did passed the inspection & encapsulation was not required.
