            September 23 we contacted Coast to Coast to investigate a ceiling leak that developed in our bedroom.This was the 2nd leak that occurred since having solar panels.Coast to Coast believed it was not caused by the solar panels but offered, in writing, to remove and reinstall the panels at no cost.Coast to Coast emailed us stating that the roof was aged and showed signs of ponding prior to their install. However, no one from Coast to Coast informed us of any possible issues with our roof nor did they recommend that we get the roof inspected prior to install.We hired a roofing company to install a new roof which is now *** material.We hired a lawyer with the belief that Coast to Coast should have advised us of the roof conditions prior to installing the panels and due to this negligence should cover the cost of the roof repair.Coast to Coast was made aware that the roof was now *** and they agreed, in writing, to work with our roofing company to support the install of the panels on the *** roof.Coast to Coast responded to the demand letter from our lawyer with the following offer:-Reinstall the panels at no cost on the *** roof -Cash offer of $2500 -Dissolve the existing *********** we neared the end of our negotiations Coast to Coast stopped responding.Since they stopped engaging with our lawyer, the matter was escalated to ******** the lending company for the solar loan.Both my wife and I had a call with **** ********, one of their partners. He was very disrespectful, unprofessional, told my wife she should go crawl into a hole, cursed at me, mocked me, and told me he could say whatever he wanted. **** stated that Coast to Coast does not support *** roofs and when we asked him when this change took place he said it didnt matter. **** also stated that he would never help us giving the impression that they never truly intended to help us.Our solar panels have been sitting in our backyard on the ground for almost a year.

            Last year, I discovered a severe leak in my bedroom, which required the removal of the solar panels installed by Coast to Coast. They had agreed to remove the panels so that the roof could be repaired and promised to reinstall them at no cost to me. However, during this process, Coast to Coast's salesman, Scott T*****, sent an email claiming that my roof was already aged and showed signs of ponding before they installed the panels. This was news to me, as I had never been informed of any issues with my roof prior to the installation, nor did I have any documentation to suggest there was a problem. Despite involving lawyers and coming close to a resolution, Coast to Coast suddenly stopped responding. I even reached out to the financing company, hoping they could facilitate better communication, but unfortunately, we encountered the same lack of responsiveness. Coast to Coast has consistently provided excuses, citing vacations, illnesses, and unfulfilled promises of phone calls. When lawyers were involved, their only offer was to reinstall the solar panels but cancel the rest of my warranty with them—leaving me without any warranty on the solar system and my newly repaired roof. This pattern of deception and delay has continued with the financing company, who have received the same excuses about unavailable personnel. We no longer trust this organization. Given the lack of service and the deceptive practices we've experienced, we want to return the solar panels and cancel the loan, if possible. This has been a deeply regrettable experience.

            As per the signed contract by this customer; Page 6, Section 6.5;Contractor will not be responsible for pre-existing conditions of any roof or for damages or problems arising from such pre-existing conditions which may be aggravated by normal material handling procedures on the roof. It is very unfortunate that this situation has escalated to this point. The requests from this customer were over and above what we are responsible for.  We are very blessed to have thousands of happy customer's who repeatedly request our services. Our proven record here with the BBB reflects our mission to provide customers with quality products and services.

            It is unfortunate and deeply concerning when a company fails to honor commitments made to their customers. I have written confirmation from Coast to Coast, stating they would remove and reinstall our solar panels at no cost. However, in their response to the BBB, they have failed to acknowledge several critical points: They ceased negotiations with no explanation. They agreed in writing to reinstall our panels at no cost. They agreed to install the panels on our TPO roof They have not addressed the offensive phone call I received from Gary M*******, one of their partners. In that call, Mr. M******* informed me that despite their previous agreement, they would no longer assist us. He insulted me, cursed at me, and explicitly stated he could say whatever he wanted. Furthermore, he threatened to have me arrested if I attempted to visit their office to discuss the matter. When my wife contacted him, he told her to “crawl into a hole.” We have evidence of these interactions, should it be necessary. Our only request was for Coast to Coast to fulfill their written agreement to reinstall the panels. Mr. M******* also mentioned that the company no longer supports TPO roofs, which is the type of roof we now have. When asked why and when this policy changed, he refused to provide any reasoning. This is despite having an agreement from Coast to Coast to reinstall the panels on our TPO roof and to negotiate with our roofing company—neither of which occurred. When my wife stated that we could have the roofing material changed, his response was it doesn't matter, we still won't help you. If Coast to Coast never intended to reinstall the panels, they misled us throughout this process. We have spent months trying to resolve this issue, only to now realize they never intended to uphold their end of the agreement. This behavior is both dishonest and unacceptable.
