We feel we've been taken advantage of by Ralph and Cara in terms of the hardship my 81 year old mother, (home owner) has endured due to the extreme length of time it's taken to complete the job. There has been lack of management by both Cara (GC) & Ralph. Cara claims she had no responsibility for the job. But she is the licensed GC, she is a qualifier and she is paid by the company which means she must be actually "working" to supervise, direct and control the construction. She's been on the job 2-3 times. Began work 9/20/2020 still not completed to date-Work has not been completed within 4 months of the date permit was received per contract. 3+ months to complete upstairs (painting, flooring, 2 bathroom renovations) Sept 2020 to January 2021. 5+ months for deck August 2021 to January 2022. 6+ months for stucco and paint outside March 2021 to present not completed. We paid him $200,000 of the job plus and additional $27,920 in extras. He demanded a recent payment of $10,000 on 12/18/21 but the stucco is not complete as required per contract. I paid because he threatened a lien on the house. So we paid to date $237,920. There is $13,112.75 left to be paid when the job is completed. We have all the check copies. He has stated he is refusing to complete the rest of the job. What's left to finish: Painting--Outside house where repaired stucco holes Painting--inside downstairs trim, all doors and whole down stairs. Closet doors painted and installed Electrical--dryer vent, doorbell Ceiling-fix hole left in overhang ceiling on right side of house. Lighting-caulking needed around lights where they broke the stucco to put the lights up. Reconfigure wall downstairs Doors- install our existing screen doors (2) on both sides of the garage Remove debris and trash Fix broken fence, paint on fence, stucco on fence Remove cement on driveway stains on new windows tore up the cable box cement on deck

      Business response

      05/05/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2022/04/08) */ We have completed all work, many different circumstances that created delays, inside of the house was completed quickly and client was able to live in the house. Exterior took some time the remainder of time. we suffered from COVID infections on 2 separate occasions. manufacturers of supplies were shut down in Michigan for months. I don't want to get into personal issues with clients, I'll only say it was very difficult. No one has been taken advantage of! I'm not sure how that came about, we haven't been fully paid for the job. I believe the client is satisfied with the work and will refer us to others in the future. We are all happy to be finished.
