***** was great on the phones claims to be Christian run. He did arrive on time. As we discussed pool, he was trying to upsell everything. He said he would fix leak at clorinator, simple Teflon tape repair, 2 min job as he had pool apart. Also said he would replace on and off clip on timer. Once he realized I didn't want to replace the pump or liner his personality changed. He doesn't accept credit cards which was never stated. On invoice he charged me for 300lbs of sand and I watched him only install 250.00 lbs, didn't catch it until after as I was shocked for his 1hr job, 5bags of sand and 3 pvc couplers, it cost a whopping 500.00. I would not call this guy to your home unless you want to be run through ringer for up-sale on items and treated poorly once you don't agree with his ideas to make him a high profit margin. Christian business since 1978, he should be ashamedBusiness response

I was called out to service a sand filter. I finished the job, and he mentioned needing other things done, I told him that would be an extra charge. He expected them to be done for free. He didn't tell me to do them. He gave me a check for the work on the sand filter, and I left.Business response

To further add information: Mr ****** **** did not put into his complaint follows: I was call to his pool site for a filter sand change out only. NOT to price out a Pool Liner or Pool Pump. Mr ****** **** stated I tried to increase the prices of liner & pump motor which was never talked about on his phone call. The sand filter change out is always a set price which Mr ****** **** stated was $500.00 & 3 fittings. To the unknown pool owner requires the PVC piping to be cut and remove top of sand filter. Mr ****** **** stated he paid for 1 hour service & was over charged for his work. Mr ****** **** stated 3 other small jobs that I said could be fixed in a short time. However as tools & equipment was being put away, Mr ****** **** asked if I was not repairing the 3 other small items we talked about. I replied I can sir, but it’s not FREE! This is when Mr ****** **** asked what do I owe you ? Mr ****** **** wanted to know what Credit cards did I except ? I informed Mr ****** **** I did not work credit card companies because of the high charge rate they charged. Mr ****** **** was very unhappy with my answer. Mr ****** **** stated he did not use checks. However he went into his house and returned with a check filled out in full. Not speaking to me any longer as tools and equipment was being picked up and loaded. In 2 hours later Mr ****** **** had filed a complaint with BBB & asked for a REFUND! Now this answer to his complaint becomes so very interesting at this time ! Mr ****** ****s check written to my company for full amount turns out to be written on a CLOSED BANK ACCOUNT !! This is a second degree FELONY with a possible ARREST. After going to the State Attorney’s office and filling all the correct paper work in and giving the returned check stamped Account Closed & a letter from my bank explaining this Account is Closed and not good. Mr ****** **** had written his check on a Closed Bank Account. The State Attorneys Office then filed papers against Mr ****** ****. After the State Office sends Mr ****** **** a official letter, he will have 15 Days to locate myself & pay with a different form of payment. Then Mr ****** **** has to go to the State Attorneys Office to pay the State Fees. And if this is not done within 15 days and with a signed recite from myself a ARESST WARRANT can be issued for Mr ****** ****!!! For a home owner to Falsely send a letter to BBB, of performance & want his money returned was a surprise to myself.

We hired Clint ***** of Affordable Backyard Pools, LLC last week Wednesday March 22, 2023 to install the new pool pump that we bought for our pool. He said his service call is $130.00 and $125.00 to install the pump He said $255.00 totla so I said OK but I end up paying him $401.30. He charged extra 1hour labor for putting silicone lubricant on the o-ring on chlorinator lid, for opening and closing the filter cover which I helped him close, $16.30 for a 5ft PVC pipe that he only used 5 inches. His service call went up from $130.00 to $135.00 during the time I paid him. I called him today to tell him that we can't open the chlorinator lid because he closed it so tight. He said the o-ring in the chlorinator lid is old just buy a new chlorinator feeder. I told him we don't need a new chlorinator feeder. We just need to loosen the lid so we can add chlorinating tabs in it. He said I'm not doing it for free.I said he's charging me too much, then he just hung up on me, so rude. He wants me to pay him another $135.00 to loosen up the chlorinator lid that he tightened with a wrench so tight that we can not add chlorine to chlorinator. The guy is so greedy.
