I used this dentist for over a year as they had a very good reputation in the area. When I moved I found out that the Crown they replaced was done improperly requiring it to be completely redone at my local dentist. In addition, they provided unnecessary x-rays when they were not needed and not covered by my insurance. Both me and my Dental Insurance Claims agent spent months trying to obtain a refund. I finally received a check for much less than I paid without any explanation and has continued to be unresponsive to any inquiries and continuing to drag out this matter. Luckily my Dental Ins did reverse their claim validating that the work was performed improperly. I am now out the money I paid to Marion, the money I paid to have the work redone and over 6 months of wasted time trying to resolve it fairly. Not to mention the inconvenience of all the extra dental work.Business response

Upon further review of ******************** complaint, there was the cost of the full mouth xrays that were taken in March of 2023 and not covered by insurance. Quality of care requires a set of full mouth xrays to properly determine the health of both arches of the mouth and all teeth.
I apologize for the delay in answering these questions, and as a courtesy will refund the amount of the xrays, $83, to ****************.

I am rejecting this response because:This response doesn't even acknowledge the main issue which was an improperly attached Crown and the money spent on it not to mention, the replacement cost to replace the new crown. The x-rays where not covered and since I was only there for a cleaning, should never have been done unless I was informed that I would need to pay out of pocket. Also, the x-rays clearly showed that the Margins were not closed on tooth #** crown and this should have been fixed at the time. Therefore, the purpose is not valid since it showed an issue that was not addressed.
I was so happy with this dental practice and very surprised that they have taken this approach with a customer through no fault of my own. I did not perform the work, you did. I am the one that had to suffer through corrective dentistry and pay twice for the same crown. I am asking to be reimbursed, which is fair since the work done was inadequate as determined by the Dental Insurance Agent that reversed your claim and recovered my benefits.
thank you,

Attached the original complaint to Dental Insurance and Xray of crown showing open margins prior to correction. Marion x-rays showing same, not sure how this was missed especially with multiple x-rays taken which is supposed expose any issues. The case info which concluded that the work was done improperly and the dental practice was forced to return the insurance money they received on the claim. They also agreed to a refund however it has been dragging out for 6+ months and when I did finally receive the check it wasn't even close to the amount of out of pocket i have paid them. I am seeking fair reimbursement and was trying to handle this discreetly, however, Marion refuses to resolve this fairly and quickly making this much more difficult than necessary.Business response

4/24/24-I spoke with **************** today and we were able to come to a resolution. Attached is a copy of the letter that I am including with the refund check. I am sending $139.00 which includes the $83 previously mentioned and another $56 for her portion of the buildup that was done on the same tooth as the crown. **************** and I went over the complete charges and offered refund and she was happy to accept this and said she would resolve the complaint upon receipt of today's check. *******************Customer response
