June 7, 2024 we had a Carrier heat pump installed (model #PH5SAN43000A). The first part of September 2024 we had a unit failure. My husband went to the local dealer where we were told we needed a licensed HVAC installer to order parts for service and it would cost us $75 to fill out warranty paperwork. So we set about getting everything in order. This Monday, September 30th the weather finally cooperated to install the compressor. Turns out the failure wasn't the compressor, but instead the reverse. Now we are again waiting for parts for the repair. At this time the only parts that will be original to the unit will be the fan and housing. We were denied a new unit that could have already been up and running, instead we have been at the mercy of this company and mother nature. I would like to believe that companies stand by their products and want to give good customer service. We have been very disappointed with a major purchase for our household in a time when everyone's budgets are tight. $9000 was no small sum for us to hand over for a product we apparently can't have confidence in.

I bought a new ** system for my 1700 square foot house in December of 2024. I live in the ******* area, I did not turn the ** system on till April. It is a 5ton unit, all parts are new ** / heater . The system has broke down 3 times since it was installed. The installer will not answer me calls or text. So I called Carrier Corp and I get no response from them either.....Carrier ** systems are made on ****** with 3rd world country substandard parts. These ** units are junk, and I would not recommend them, and the Carrier tech support is less than helpful. I am sure it is because of the constant phone calls with customers complaining about their inferior **********************.

Carrier's warranty is a fraud! Do not trust them. My husband and I spent over $50,000 to install a brand new carrier high efficiency system. At the time of installation we were promised with 10 year manufacture warranty for parts and five year for labor. We were very happy because we thought by buying the more expensive units, we would receive better customer service. Two years into it, one of the sensors broke and we called a local Carrier authorized installer. The sensor is probably cost $20-$30 to replace off market. However even the part was falling under the warranty, the local Carrier dealer wanted to charge us $436 for it. The dealer said the charge was for "Freight and Warranty Charge". When we called Carrier directly and asked why they would allow dealer charge $436 for a warranty part. They said they are just manufacturer and they have no way to tell how much their authorized dealer is going to charge customers for their warranty. They also said they do not stock any items that could ship to the customers directly for warranty! When you call the company, it does not matter whom you spoke with, this is the only answer you are going to get.! So Carrier does not do warranty for any of its products themselves, and nor does the company honor its warranty through their own authorized dealers! To get their warranty, you might as well just buy the parts yourself because their dealer will charge you for 10 times more price for the item. Stay away from Carrier if you can! You will be much happier with other cheaper alternative brands in the market once you run in to trouble with your machines and have to use warranty or customer service. You aren't getting any of that with Carrier!!!

      Dear **** and ******** ******,

On behalf of Carrier, I am very sorry to learn of the problems you have experienced with your equipment.

The warranty Carrier provided on Model: 25VNA460A0030040 & Serial: 3120E01608 is a 10-year limited parts only warranty from the date the equipment was installed for the original owner. The manufacturer warranty does not include diagnostic fees, labor, refrigerant, maintenance, etc... The labor warranty was provided by the installer for a period of time as determined by them. Typically, the installer will review with the homeowner options to purchase additional parts and/or labor coverage.

Should you require repairs under warranty, we recommend engaging a licensed HVAC technician with an account at a Distributor. This ensures that the technician can efficiently file warranty claims directly with their distributor to cover the part cost. Please be aware that we are unable to reimburse homeowners for parts if the technician does not meet this criteria.

I have checked our warranty records, and your dealer has not filed a warranty claim, we would recommend contacting your dealer and requesting the file a warranty claim for the cost of the part. Once a claim has been filed, we would recommend asking for an itemized invoice to ensure you were not charged for the part.

      Thank you,

      **** *****

I bought a Carrier unit 4 years ago and a part went out. THE COMPANY HAS REFUSED TO HONOR THE WARRANTY Because I did not buy the unit directly from the distributor. Yet they accepted the registration and is on their site to show it is under warranty; and was installed by a licensed contractor. I called the company to speak to the escalation team and was told by Wilesha they leave at 430pm EST and there was nothing she could do for me and I would need to call back tomorrow. The was no one else in another office to speak with in the whole **. I also spoke to a ******** who disconnected the call and left me speaking on the phone. I then sent an email to the company and it has been over 24 hours and I have not had a response. I sent another email. Wilesha told me she did not know why they did not respond and could be they are back logged. I have a 77 yr old husband, 2 children and 4 dogs. I have been trying to resolve this issue since Monday and Carrier has refused to respond. My 3000 sqft house is 100 degrees inside. I have been in this situation for 5 days. My contractor tried to buy the part outright and was told no due to the warranty dispute. I will make sure my experience will be heard by many.

      Dear ***** ********,

On behalf of Carrier, I am very sorry to learn of your experience you have had with your purchase.

Carrier Corporation is the manufacturer of heating, air conditioning and ventilation equipment; we go to market through a distribution channel. The distributors, in turn, sell our products to dealers and contractors within their territories. The distributors, dealers and contractors are all independently owned and operated businesses.

Customer experience and satisfaction is important to us. If you could please contact our office, we would be happy to look into your concerns of your installation being postponed.

I purchased a carrier 3 ton AC heat pump in April of 2023 in June of 2024 the heat exchange coil busted. I had ars the installer of the system come out and checked the unit and said that they were going to have to order the part. About 2 weeks later *** called and informed me that the part was on back order and it would be 101 days before they could get it. That meant that we were out of AC for the whole summer. This should not be possible for a company as large as carrier. Is there anything that can be done to rectify this?

      Dear ************,

On behalf of Carrier, I am very sorry to learn of the problems you have experienced with your equipment.

The distributors, in turn, sell our products to dealers and contractors within their territories. The distributors, dealers and contractors are all independently owned and operated businesses.

Should a part not be available at the local distributor, your dealer would place an order (PO) with the local distributor, and in return the distributor would check within their local network to see if they have the part, if not they would place an internal order with the manufacture/factory for the parts in question.

We have contacted the local distributor where your dealer placed their order based off your case response (********). Once we have obtained the factory order, our parts team will begin expediting your dealer's order.

Our team will provide emailed updates directly to you from your existing customer service case.

Buyer beware. Good luck obtaining any sort of reimbursement for parts from carrier XXX which fail under warrant. Ridiculous that in order to get refunded although you are the homeowner & owner of the unit, they will want the 3rd party contractor/repair person to fill out the warranty claim (unheard of that anyone would want this) which is ridiculous as many will not want to waste their time on something that does not benefit them..... Ridiculous that I have spent many months going back and forth with them trying to get reimbursed for part(s) which failed many years before warranty date with little no none customer service reply. They will attempt to try and find any loophole to get out of paying including just totally ignoring your calls and emails I guess in the hope that you just give up.

My Carrier brand unit was installed 7/27/16 - stopped working 7/26/24. Lasted 8 years. Warranty only covers PARTS. No labor is included in the warranty so I am having to purchase a NEW UNIT. I can guarantee you, it will NOT be a Carrier brand. 7/27/24 - Had a new Trane unit installed - still won't work as the Carrier brand Relay is also out. So installer tries to get the new Carrier brand relay as it IS under warranty, however the part is out of stock until October! So if I want air conditioning for the rest of this summer, I will need to buy the Trane Relay at my own expense. Why is Carrier selling us c*** products that don't last?? What a rip-off. My AC Blower went out after 7 years. Carrier would not cover it under warranty and they design to have you repair there systems. Choose a different brand with higher quality. My system was installed in 2016.

      Dear *************************,

On behalf of Carrier, I am very sorry to learn of the problems you have experienced with your equipment.

I have checked our customer service records and do not show any prior communication from you, nor a matching product registration under your name. The standard warranty Carrier provides is a 5-year parts only warranty from the date of installation. In 2009, as an incentive to encourage our customers to register their equipment, we offered should you purchase equipment using Puron (R410a) refrigerant, have the equipment installed in an owner-occupied residential dwelling and register the eligible equipment within 90 days from the date the equipment was installed we would provide an additional five-year warranty enhancement. The warranty enhancement would be provided to only the original owner of the equipment and any subsequent owner(s) would receive the original five-year parts warranty coverage.

We appreciate you reaching out to share your experience, should you have additional concerns or feedback you would like to share with our team. Please contact our customer relations at ************** and have your equipment serial number available.

      Thank you,

Had a 2 year old heat pumpnot working had technician he diagnosed bad compressor they change comprssor and that was a 2200 hundred dollor bill, because carrier dose not do labor or freon. Got it working and one minute later it went out again. Now the technician told us it will cost another ********. Call carrier, because the tech told us we would be throwing good money after bad. Because when the compressor when out it through metal through the whole system. So it is junk at that point, because everthing needs to be replaceed. We call carrier and they were so uncarrying and down right rude. They would just relace parts, but didn't care how much it cost us for freon and labor. It would be more than price of new system. If they had 5 negative stars that is what we would give them.
