August 26, 2021 Costa Verde Landscape came to do work I had discussed with a landscaper named Lee. Two other employees showed up midday and did the majority of the work; however, the front bed and the clearing out under the back left side was not done. A hard rainstorm blew in around 5pm and I had to leave for an appointment. I left the workers under the cover of my porch waiting for it to pass. When I returned home it was dark so the next morning as I walked the lawn I noticed the two areas were still not completed. I had already paid 60% up front so I called the office the next day to ask when they would be out to finish. Chrystal who answered the phone said she would have Lee call to follow up. I continued to call this business and leave messages for the next two months with no one ever returning my calls. Finally I got a text message from Lee 10/29/21. I was out of the country at the time and he texted again 11/15/21. I responded to him by text and explained the situation. He was aggressive and blamed me. ************************************************************ It's unfortunate that this contractor chose to leave the job unfinished and ignore calls when it could have been resolved easily by sending someone out. I would have happily paid when our agreed scope was finished. Holding back the balance was the only way to get their attention. I have all the correspondence and will share below. Palm tree trimming $660 (completed no complaint) Removal of dead back yard palm close to house $775 (completed no complaint) General cleanup of backyard beds (completed with complaints), relocate hydrangeas (completed no complaint), cutting of roadside grass (completed no complaint), and cleanup of front yard bed (completed with complaints). $670 CC Fee 3.5% 73.68 Total job $2178.68 Down payment paid by Mrs. ****** $1307.21 Remaining balance $871.47 Our records show her job being completed on 8/27/21. Mrs. ****** was home at the time of the work being completed. Our office emailed out her invoice 8/30/21 with no response. Costa Verde continued to email invoice and got a email response on 10/2/21 stating that Mrs. ****** has called several times and will remit payment after speaking with the manager who initially met with her to discuss the scope of work to be performed. The same manager continued to call and text Mrs. ****** and finally got a text response on November 15, 2021 saying she was out of the country and not satisfied with the work that was completed. Mrs. ****** also stated that she would call and try to resolve in the summer of 2022 when she returns from the Middle East. Mrs. ****** claims she was not happy with cleaning out the front and rear flower beds. Due to the lengthy passage ** time before Mrs. ****** emailed in stating she was not satisfied, Costa Verde declined to return because of 4 weeks of new weed and plant growth. Costa Verde would have essentially performed more work that originally agreed upon.
