On August 20, 2009, I got my windows tinted at Solar Control of *********** in ******, **. The tinting was with MADICO film, and I received a sheet from CHARCOOL, its parent company, with its lifetime warranty. MADICO refuses to answer my phone calls or reply to voicemails or e-mails. An attorney at ***************************** advised I file this claim.Business response

We're sorry to hear you are so disappointed with Madico, Inc. You indicated that Madico is not responding to your complaint. Can you please tell us when and who you contacted us(name, phone and/or email) and whether you have returned to Solar Control of *********** for them to examine the window film on your vehicle?
Madico is a manufacturing facility in Florida with several distribution points across the US. We typically do not deal directly with consumers such as yourself because we do not install film. The closest Madico locations to you are ********, ** and *******, ** but both locations are distribution warehouses only. Installer/dealers like Solar Control of *********** are our direct customers. They are independent window film installers with no connection to Madico other than that they purchase film from us to install on vehicles like yours.
Our window film has warranties associated with the different types and these warranties are handled through the installers. In order for us to determine if you have an actual quality issue with your film, we need you to visit Solar Control of *********** for an inspection of the installed window film. They can assist us in validating your claim by evaluating your vehicle and sending photos to our warranty department.
Please let us know when you plan to visit them, who you speak to and the outcome of the quality inspection.

My home windows were tinted with this product which has warranty. A few days after my windows were tinted the tints started to lift and bubble. I called the company that installed the tints and no response. I emailed Madico to put in a warranty claim and no response.Business response

********************* contacted Madico regarding a problem with the architectural window film installation in her home. Madico is the manufacturer of the film but not the installer. The installer that ************ used is in no way associated with Madico other than they purchased Madico film for the windows in question. The Madico warranty is limited to manufacturing defects in films we produce. We do not warranty installer errors or sub-standard work. Those issues should be addressed between the installer and the consumer; however, ************ informed Madico that she didn't want to have the original installer come back to her home to fix the issue.
Even though poor installation of Madico films on the part of installers purchasing our films is not covered in our warranty commitment and we determined that there was no defect in the film, Madico graciously allowed Ms. ***********;a full reimbursement of the full invoice amount she paid to the installer.
