My Husband pass away October 2022, I was unaware of the passing away cause we were separated at the time, so family members of my husband did the funeral and every thing with this funeral home, I found this out in January of 2023, I call the funeral home, introduce myself and ask for a copy of my husband death certificate, they ask that I provide a marriage certificate which I did, I went to pick up my husband death certificate, they stated on it hes married but has someone elses name as his wife, I make several attempt to correct the error and I was told from one of the representatives at the funeral homeI have to fix it myself because I wasnt around and this person whose name is on the death certificate were the one running around and doing every thing,Business response

I have received your email requesting a response to a ********************************* complaint. Unfortunately, we deal with over 200 cases per year and I'm not familiar with this name. I understand you concerns on this matter. Unfortunately in not much i can do to help in this matter. When we are meeting with families and doing arrangements with are working on good faith from the family that they are giving us the correct and accurate information. If they dont provide accurate information and the death certificate is filled then we are limited on what can be changed. When it comes to the married title that has to be changed by the courts. LC Poitier funeral home is neither liable nor responsible for any inaccurate information that has been received during the funeral arrangement process.Customer response

***********************************If L.C Poitier funeral home had ask for documentation like they had ask me to provide when I ask for a copy of the death certificate we wouldnt have this mess, this happen because they take someones word with no prove, it was negligence on their part
