I had my vehicle towed to the shop to have it diagnosed. I couldn't afford to pay for the labor so I had to pay for the diagnostic only. The owner told me as he was getting ready to take my payment that the diagnostic was a total of $165. When I checked my account, I was charged an additional $11. The owner over charged me. My main issue is the owner damaging my key that I paid approx $150 for. I noticed the damage after my car was towed away, and when the tow truck driver gave me the key, I noticed that my key was damaged. I went back to the shop the same day after it was towed away, and I approach the owner about it. the owner kept denying the fact that he didn't damage my key. I know for a FACT he did because my key was still in great condition beforehand. I politely asked the owner to at least fix my key but he denied. I also know for a fact that he worked on a car that is exactly like mine, same make, model and color. I believe he may have swapped my key with someone else. I truly feel he purposely damaged my key after I told him that I could not pay for the labor. I should not have to pay another $150 for a key that was in good condition before giving it to the owner. My key will also have to be reprogrammed. He should be responsible for replacing my key due to the amount I had to pay for it.

The customer vehicle was towed into the workshop for diagnosis. The standard cost for diagnostic fee is $165 before tax. After tax is included, an additional $11.55 amount is added to the $165. Therefore, customer total cost increased by $11. The customer decided she could not pay for her repairs therefore the car was towed out of my workshop.  The customer requested the key to be ************************ a few days after the car was towed out the workshop. Based on these factors, the key could have been broken during the towing process. The customers grandfather stopped by my auto ********************** shop, and we discussed the customers ***********************. In good faith, I offered to fix the key when the grandfather mentioned the key issue. However, the grandfather nor the customer never returned to my workshop.
