In mid-Dec 2021, our manager, Geneva ******** of Sandestin, Miramar Beach FL, contacted Kitchen Designs (KD) to schedule cabinet and countertop selection & measurement for installation as soon as possible. On 12/27/21, we met with Nick **** of KD to pick out product. After explaining that time is of the essence for the installation, & understanding that delivery of the cabinets might take "up to 6 weeks" (mid-Feb), we agreed to the purchase after being told that once delivered the cabinets would be installed right away, measurement of the countertops a day or so after install, & the countertops would be installed "5-7 days" later. So by end of Feb. We emailed and texted KD's Zach ********* in mid-Feb 2022 to confirm delivery and installation. On 3/2/22 Gunselman confirmed 3/11 install. From 3/4 to 4/14/22, I and Sandestin managers ******** and Lee ******* emailed and called KD multiple times to communicate a list of damages, missing items, installation trash left behind, and improper installation (missing trim and incorrectly measured fridge opening), requesting immediate attention to avoid lost rental reservations. Documented communications show KD routinely missed return dates, did not make timely corrections, and did not correct some items at all. By not adhering to its "5-7 days" post cabinet install countertop installation, KD caused us to postpone a series of other vendors (plumber, painter, interior decorator), further requiring the unit to be "blocked" from reservations. KD takes issue with missing outlet covers and microwave mounting bolts, a molded fridge, & broken toilet paper holder, pointing out contract terms where KD doesn't have to move anything prior to install. But KD did indeed move those things and, at its own negligence, caused damage or loss. Almost 3 dozen emails & texts, not including calls, over 4 months strongly suggest that KD dropped the ball on this very small project, causing approximately $950 in harm. Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/06/15) */ I went through our records the client was given a discount in the amount of $370.93 and the contract was paid in full and closed out on 2/2/22. If you have any questions please let me know. Thank you, Arlene Consumer Response /* (3000, 12, 2022/06/16) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Owner Mr Tony ***** graciously agreed to "split the baby" in settlement of the over $928 documented loss resulting from KD's missed deadlines, negligent installation, and exceptionally poor communication with me and on-site management. The settlement was forfeited the (then) $270 due and crediting $300, approximately half of the suffered loss. Instead, KD states that it removed a $100 credit and then closed out the $370 due on 2/2/22, which date is over a month before the cabinets were installed, over 2 mos. before the work was complete, and 3 mos. before I spoke with Mr. *****. Thus, this is patently untrue. However, because of the greater discounted amount (from $100 to $370), I would accept a lesser amount $200 in settlement, mailing address to be provided via email upon request. Moreover, I will need an updated invoice reflecting the satisfied account.
