I had an electrical issue where I knew I was hearing and smelling sparking in the wall near an outlet. I requested an appointment after a storm (*****) hit because I lost full power in my master bedroom and the circuit break kept tripping. An electrician came from the Energy Today company and checked the outlet and said it was a ground wire rubbing. We turned on the power but he couldnt duplicate the problem. Three minutes after he did nothing but look at my outlet and left, the power sparked and the circuit breaker popped. I called the companies dispatch and asked for him to come back. They told me he was turning around and then he called me and said he could not duplicate the problem and it was a weather related issue that required water restoration company. I paid $225.00 that I dont have for the company to just look at my outlet. I had to cut out the drywall and found a charred section of the home wiring near the outlet. I wound up making the repair myself but replacing the bad wiring.Business response

When I called, I was told several times it would be $59 for them to come out and give me a quote on a repair. There was no mention of diagnostics charges. Also, when I asked if they would look at more than one thing if it would be more and was told the only charge would be $59. After the tech came, and couldnt find the problem, wanted to charge us $230. I explained what I was told and he changed the charge to $100 (invoice attached). He said they would run a new line. I was told someone would be calling to set up an appointment. No one called and two days later they called to say the tech was on his way to do the repair. I couldnt do it that day, especially without notice, so I said I would reschedule. My husband and I were now questioning the lack of communication and decided to go with someone else. I requested the invoice for the $100 and they sent me a bill as if the work was done for $793 (invoice attached). I went to pay for it online and the only option was for the $793, but they didnt do the work. I sent the rail to pay just the $100, and they responded with this email:I am sorry if there was any confusion. Our service fee is $59 waived with a repair. I have no way of refunding the $259. For you but I would be happy to have our **************************** contact you about the issues you are experiencing. Thank you,*************************** was not informed of any of this. I will gladly pay the $100, but I am not paying one cent more.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: someone did try to contact me, but they left a generic phone number without an extension in a voicemail. When I called back, the person was not available. I explained to the person on the phone what had happened and what my acceptable resolution was. Also, I explained my phone pushes unrecognized calls to spam. I did not receive an email, text, or voicemail with a direct number or a response to my request.
