I hired *************************, CEO of The Healthy Environments for mold remediation services in my home after Hurricane ***. After giving a $5000.00 deposit, work began on my home on 11/2/22 and was supposed to have been completed on 11/9/22. Upon returning to my home, my husband and I found mold in several areas of the house. I then received two invoices from ************** totaling $35,000.00. I'm being charged for Mold Remediation Techniques which were not provided. I visited my home every evening to check on the work. He claims negative pressure was used and the only thing we saw were two fans facing the walls of the ***********, which does not make negative pressure. Rooms and surfaces were definitely not isolated. The kitchen was the only room taped off and two bedroom doors had the cracks sealed with blue painters tape, which is not the proper way to isolate the rooms. Insulation was left in areas that should have been cleaned and treated. We found mold behind the insulation. Rooms were not properly cleaned and treated for mold, otherwise I wouldn't have the mold that I have now. My husband ripped open the closet wall which they claim to have demo'd & treated and we found mold. They could not have cleaned the 2nd floor ceiling because you would need a scaffold set up to do the job. All his workers did was go on the 2nd floor landing and spray some of it to make it look like it was treated. They claim to have treated and wiped the molded areas yet there are pieces of dried insulation still hanging on the walls. Workers did not wear proper PPE as they should have when working with mold. I now have to pay another company to treat my home for mold because it was not done properly. My husband had to remove and dispose of all the debris that was bagged and left in front of our home. For these reasons I have refused to pay the balance of $30,000. I do not think ************** is capable of completing the ******* will not allow him or his workers back into my home.

The homeowner started their own demolition of the home according to them when the water was coming into their home from the storm. There was no proper water mitigation or dry out remediation done by anyone prior to our arrival.

When we were contracted to the project, the home was completely dry and there were some signs of suspect fungus contamination and signs of water intrusion, but no mold testing was done by homeowner.

The ********************* stated he would mark all walls that he wanted to come out, as there was no protocol or mold test results to work from. We removed the walls and vaulted ceiling he wanted removed, bagged all the drywall.

This was a demolition and sanitization job as there was no mold report done. As I advised the homeowner that they should have one done.

We isolated the kitchen with containment, as it was the only room that wasnt exposed to the outside air conditions.

The homeowner stated they have mold, but there was no mold test or test results done, also there home is still open to the outside environment.

We completed all the work on our invoice, we had air scrubbers running onsite and we had PPE on but didnt charge the homeowner for it.

The homeowner, ***************** stated he would have the trash bags removed, because he owns a dumpster company.

We removed all the aeras ***************** wanted removed!! We worked at their home for 4 days to remove damaged drywall and completed the remediation process.

We followed all IICRC and NORMI standard per the situation.

We offered to come back and resolve any issues, but the homeowners would not give us an opportunity to resolve any issues, the homeowner is trying to avoid paying for services.

MR& MRS ******** doesnt want to resolve this amicably at all.

I am rejecting this response because ***************************** is a liar.  He came to my home to inspect for mold and said he could visually see signs of mold. We were never advised to get a mold test done as he was the licensed mold remeditor, and should have done the testing.  My husband and I advised him of the areas that were affected by water, which we believed should be checked for mold.  As a licensed mold remediator, he should know the proper procedures when working with mold.  He is supposed to be the expert and telling us what needs to be done and not asking us what needs to be done.  He also knew that the walls were wet because *********, who he supposedly is a consultant for, (I have a recording of his statement) was at my house and conducted a moisture reading which read 60 and 70 percent.  We were advised by another company that he did not follow the proper protocol by not opening up the walls that were affected by water and by using Kills as an encapsolant.  They also said I was being charged by ************** for detailed hepa vacuuming which was not done because there are chunks of insulation still hanging from the walls.  I was never trying to avoid paying for the remediation services as I gave a $5000 deposit and entrusted that the work would be completed as stated by ************** on his initial visit.  ************** should not be in the mold remediation business.  I also wonder how many others have been scammed by him.  How many other customers have trusted ************** to remove mold from their homes, who think their homes are clean, but instead are breathing in the harmful bacteria that comes with mold.  How many others are there like me, who's home was affected by hurricane ***, and who is being scammed by someone who is only thinking about profit and not the health and welfare of the customer.  I am now forced to pay another company to come in a properly treat my home for the mold that still remains.

      Sincerely,

      *************************************

I would also like to add to my response, ************** stated that he followed IICRC and NORMI standards per the situation, which is also false.  I don't think he knows what those standards are.  I contacted each of those agencies, (which he claims to be certified with) and both agencies stated that he and his company, the Healthy Environments are not certified with them.  His company website stated IICRC Certified and NORMI certified which was false.  I have proof of this as I printed the information from his website and have printed the information that was sent to me from each organization stating that he was not certified with them.  So...who is the liar now? Isn't conveying false information on a website and false advertising a crime?
