As a notary, I took a signing for Omnia Title Corp. When I arrived at the signing, the signer decided to change her mind and not sign. At this time, I called the loan officer contact, Steve D of Cardinal Financial Company in Charlotte, North Carolina. After speaking with the signer, Steve informed me to that the signing wasn't going to take place and I would be paid for the mileage and print fee. After several months passed, the signing was forgotten for the moment. After going through the years signings / audits, it was then noticed that the signing had not been paid. At this time, I called the loan officer, Steve. While speaking with him, I noticed he seemed a little put off that I called him about the payment. He asked questions such as, why you waited so long to call. I explained to him I had no reason to believe he wouldn't pay. Steve didn't seem to want to take responsibility for the fact that despite how long it took me to call, the fact is, I shouldn't have had to call at all. He then told me he's not responsible for paying me, the person that is responsible for paying me would be someone named, Jonathan R of Omnia Title Corp. I then call Jonathan and explained the situation to him. He didn't seem to have a problem with the paying and he also understood that I shouldn't have had to call and ask for payment in the first place. Jonathan informed me that he would pay me my print and mileage fee and I should receive it in a week or so. After a couple of weeks of not receiving my payment, I called him again. Johnathon informed me that the payment was scheduled to leave out this week and I should receive it in a few days. To date, I still have not received my payment. Unfortunately, it seems if these companies will not pay you unless you ask for your payment and if you wait too long to ask for payment, they see that as an opportunity not to pay. Beware of these organizations. This was a signing for Nancy Morgan.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/03/01) */ ***Document Attached*** February 28, 2022 Mr. **** *******, ****** ****** **** ******** **** ************ ** XXXXX CC to: Trade Practice Specialist Better Business Bureau 2655 McCormick Drive Clearwater, FL 33759 Re: Response to Compliant Case # ********* *******, **** Dear Mr. **** ******* and the BBB Response Group, In response to the above-mentioned complaint, against our company, I would like to take this opportunity to provide an explanation and take accountability for this claim. First off, a check has been sent and cashed by **** ******* to rectify situation. The check was sent the week of February 21st, 2022, for $25.00, the agreed upon fee, once knowledge of this claim became available to the company's owners, myself included. Secondly the first time that any owners or management had knowledge of this claim was from the BBB and not from **** ******* himself, had **** ******* reached out and asked to speak to someone this could been rectified immediately. We are not "one of those companies" as the claimant has stated, we pay our notaries timely. We are a busy growing company, and it is possible the request for this signing was simply misplaced or forgotten about, but it is never our intention to leave something unpaid when work was completed, for that, we apologize for the delay. Additionally, if we hired a vendor and in the case a Notary ******, the check would come from us as the Title Company and not the Loan Officer, the Loan Officer would not have anything to do with this matter and neither would the borrower, we are responsible and with to leave any other parties out of this matter altogether. Furthermore, our primary goal is to have good long-lasting relationships with our vendors, if at any time that is not the case, we would like to know about it and do whatever we can do to make the situation right. We respect all vendors and take great pride in our reputation and working partnerships. At this time, the check has been sent for the agreed amount and I am discouraged to hear about the experience that **** had while working with our company, we never wish for anyone to have a negative opinion or bad experience with our company. I do believe that this was a series of events that led to the overall negative outlook, and we wish that the circumstances would have been different. If you would like any more details or have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly at (XXX) XXX-XXXX Cordially, Jocelyn K. ******** Co-Founder & COO Omnia Title Corp.
