On Feb 8th, 2023, I visited *********** Optometry on ********************** in ************* Fl. for an eye exam and reading glasses. The exam was 54 $ which I paid for that day of the visit with a credit card. I had the exam and they made the glasses and they were blurry so I returned them to the store for a refund, I told the manager that the script from the exam was incorrect he then gave me my money back agreeing that was the problem. As of the end of Sept 2024 I received a collection notice from a company called *************** Collections for $163 for the eye exam which is untrue, they said that Global tried to ************* for the amount but it was denied I spoke with ******** and the said the attempted to seek only $25 Bottomline I paid for an exam that day and the exam is written wrong. This all matter is fraud. I never was told that the exam was over $54.Initial Complaint

Eye exam back in June, picked an optometrist in my network (NVA) Received a bill 10/23 for $153 saying ***** days past due. Called the number listed on 10/24, gave him my claim numbers and when they were paid ******** on 6/30 and ******** on 6/15. Said he would take care of it and would call me if he needed any other information. Just received another $153 bill 11/20 now 90+ days past due. Apparently it wasn't taken care of, tried calling, no one answers the phone. I'm not playing this and if this goes to collections and affects my credit I will be ******. I've read multiple reviews of people having the same issue due to coding errors. Resolve this.Business response

I scheduled an eye exam in my hometown (SC) and was told my insurance would not cover the exam b/c I already used my benefit. Called Aetna because I HAD NOT gotten exam to find out what was going on and was told I used my benefit for an exam and purchase of glasses at this business in June 2023. I have never been to said location and was in fact working in another state on the day in question. ***** stated they could not remove the claim b/c this companys billing **** claimed it still could have been me. I called the billing **** myself snd got no answer. Left a message. Decided to call customer service to get more info and they start asking me about names, an address, and an email I know nothing about. Rep says they must have used your benefit for someone with the same name and birthdate as you as if that makes it okay to have done so. Still waiting on a resolution to this matter but want others to beware of the possibility of this business charging your insurance for someone elses care. Not only was I working in ** that day, but I was on call all that weekend for my job. Furthermore, my prescription is so high that Im pretty sure it wont match the lenses they sold.Business response

Eye exam on 7/23/2022 Provider is in network with my insurance and the claim is filled incorrectly. I have been trying for the last 6 months to get them to file correctly. They either dont answer the phone or say theres nothing they can do. All Im asking them to do is refile the claim using their name Gulf Coast optometry/ global care optometry under for them to receive their money and to quit billing me the ******. Which ***** was paid at time of service. I have done everything I can do to get this resolved and they refuse to work with me. I do not owe the money as it is covered 100% by my insurance if they would just file the claim properly.Business response

As discussed on the phone today, it appears that your insurance did not process due to coordination of benefits issues.
We billed Spectera and have a denial placing all of the balance to your son's responsibility due to Spectera wanting to see that it processed through Tricare first.
Because of the age of this claim, I have adjusted the account, and it now shows a $0.00 balance.

I paid for exam. Found out ***** would pay for it. ***** paid them after I submitted a request to Aetna to pay for the exam. I have not gotten my refund Ref # R585734054534 Total paid ***** Aetna paid themBusiness response

Thank you for bringing your issue to our attention. Upon review of your account, I do not see where you made a payment on the date of service.
This could be an oversight by the employees of Eye Glass World. If you have a copy of your receipt, we would be happy to issue a refund for any amount after patient responsibility is satisfied.

I received a bill on 3/24/23 for $44. It says on 10:16:22 I received services for ******************** and Screening photo.I have not gone to Gulf Coast for any eye exams. I go to Americas Best for my eye exams.This bill does not belong to me.
