I purchased my newly built home in 2018. I insured it with American Integrity. The premium in 2022 and 2023 was $1181.80 and without any notice my premium is now 3833.88. I will be searching for a better price of insurance as this is ridiculous to have your premium increased more than triple to amount in 1 year without any notice. I'm in disbelief and furious.

American Integrity lacks integrity. After Hurricane Ian, we filed a hazard claim, and their own adjuster estimated the repairs would cost $120,000. They offered $14,000. We hired a lawyer who threatened to take them to court, which led them to increase the offer to $44,000. When we did not accept it, they exploited our situation by raising our premium from $4,800 for hazard and flood to $12,400 for hazard only and canceled our flood insurance. Now that we are no longer with them, our insurance is $3,400 a year for hazard coverage. They terminated our flood insurance purely to cause us harm, as we had never filed a flood claim. Since the law prohibits them from canceling the hazard insurance during litigation, they canceled the flood coverage instead, forcing us into a new, higher-rate FEMA policy.American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida Response

Floridas property insurance market has been in disarray the past few years due to roof claim and litigation abuse. These abusive practices have been a primary driver causing home insurance rates to skyrocket in our state. In 2023, Florida lawmakers passed legislation that will significantly help to reduce the incentive for frivolous lawsuits. However, there is still a huge backlog of lawsuits that will take a few year to settle that continue to factor into the rates we all pay. We are hopeful that this litigation will eventually help curb the rate increases that all Florida home insurance customers have had to suffer these past few years.Customer Response

Such a sad and typical response to an actual hurricane damage claim that even their prefered contractor said would cost $120,000 to fix. There wouldn't be a backlog if you simply treated your customers fairly. The laws you speak if were changed because insurance lobbies got a law that forces homeowners to pay all legal fees incurred to get insurance companies to pay valid claims. This new law prevents homeowners from claiming legal fees as part of their lawsuit against the insurance companies. Insurance companies intentionally drag the cases out and run up legal fees into the tens of thousands of dollars to pressure the homeowners to settle for what the company offers which is pennies on the dollar of what the real cost of repairs are.Review from Edward C

For the past two years I have tried to pay my premium by check and both times they claim they never received it. These are the only two times I have ever had a check payment Lost in the mail. I suspect its more expensive to process a check than an electronic payment so they conveniently lose the check. Oh did I mention they increased my premium by 50% this year despite no claims.Review from JoAnne B

An email was sent to cancel a policy with American Integrity. We waited 10 days and called back looking for the check and were told the y never received the email. We forwarded the same email to prove it was sent and were treated as if we were idiots. **** the so called lead was rude and had no intentions of apologizing for the absolute worst customer service that we were given. I would NOT even consider using this company ever again.American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida Response

I had 2 claims in the 8 years that I have been with them. Both denied, 1 because it didn't rain on the day I claimed the ceiling damage. 2. I didn't report kitchen cabinet damaged with in 2 weeks of it happening ( slow leak didn't see it under the cabinet).American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida Response

I am currently experiencing challenges with my insurance provider. In January, amid documented winds reaching speeds of up to 70 mph, my property suffered significant damage with shingles dislodging from the roof. Despite the fact that the property had been inspected twice by the county prior to our purchase, the insurance company deemed the issue as attributable to faulty construction, which I find to be the initial cause for concern.Subsequently, in their efforts to mitigate the damage, the insurance company arranged for a tarp to be placed atop the affected area of the roof. Regrettably, the manner in which this was executed has led to additional complications. The tarp, significantly larger than necessary to cover the area of missing shingles, was secured with nails, resulting in approximately a hundred unintended perforations on the roof's surface.Efforts to rectify this situation have been met with prolonged discussions and finger-pointing, with the insurance company shifting blame onto the contractor responsible for the tarp installation. While this division of responsibility is understandable, it is disconcerting that these deliberations have not yielded a satisfactory resolution, leaving my property exposed to further damage.Furthermore, despite the ongoing unresolved issues with our previous insurance premium, the insurance company has unilaterally decided to double our premiums. This exacerbates the situation, particularly considering the lack of action taken to address our existing concerns.Compounding matters, the policy's stipulation regarding open claims precludes us from seeking alternative insurance providers until the current matter is resolved, effectively limiting our options and leaving us feeling disillusioned by the lack of progress and the drain on our financial resources. The handling of our claim by the insurance company has been disheartening and financially burdensome, leaving us in a precarious situation.Review from Alexa R

I cancelled a policy because they increased our home insurance to $10,917.59 USD (nearly tripled our original quote). When this happened, our mortgage company did an advance payment for the 2024 insurance. We cancelled the policy when we were 2 months into the policy year (or $1,819.59). Once we cancelled, we expected to receive a check for the prorated amount (or $9,097.99), but instead, they sent a $3,700 USD which is around *****% of what we paid for the year. This means, they gave us less than HALF of what we paid for 2024.Can someone explain to me how is this fair? This is plain robbery! Please if you are looking for an insurance company beware the refunds are "under their discretion" and not according to fair numbers.Make sure to consider first insuring your home with other companies. Very disappointed with this experience.Review from Sean G

If I could, Id give a -1 star.. with a 2024 home insurance annual policy premium renewal of almost $7,000.00!!! Only made one claim in 2017. Been a customer for almost 8 years .. roof is about 6 years old. No flood zone. High tech monitored home security and alarm. Theres no reason for this criminal activity .. its price gauging at its finest .. Ive realized .. Theres no point with using an insurance company like American Integrity. Youre better off self-insuring. Ive read they dont come through with their claims anyway .. theyre losing another valued and loyal customer.American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida Response

I had minor damages to my home, including a report that I had loose shingles on my roof. After Ian went through.I am an elderly senior trying to care for a severely disabled husband. Icalled American Intergrity insurance.i was asked if I wanted to file a claim. They sent an adjuster out. Afterward, I was notified that my claim was denied. No payment was made. My premiums upon renewal increased from from &1500 to $3200. My renewable policy this year increases to $5200.. I reached out to the agent, she said because of the age of my roof. In shopping around for homeowners insurances, we have been labeled or flagged as a risk. No one wants to insure our home. In order to get the premium down to $ 3315, I had to make all kinds on concessions, like double my deductions, decrease coverage A, etc. American Intergrity was fine with taking our monies for years, but after a denied claim, they became very revengeful.American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida Response

I had a claim with both my a/c units within a few days of each other. The claims adjuster found coverage on my policy and paid out the claims. I found the claims process as a whole easy and am happy with the outcome.American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida Response
