On December 27, 2021, I rented a boom lift from United rental for only one day and paid in full for bringing the equipment and taking it back. The bill for that service was $577. I paid it in full with a credit card. They brought the equipment to the site accordingly, but they came to pick it up not after about 2 weeks. After that, they changed the bill and tried to take $1,128 from my credit card. I filed a dispute. They stopped. But 3 days ago they send a new bill of $618 and threat to send my information to the Debt Collection if I refuse to pay the $618. When I called them with the original bill (the $577) they said they would send my information to debt collectors if I refuse to pay $618. Help me please.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/31) */ This should not be any type of dispute on the customers behalf. When a customer rents equipment it is their responsibility to call of the equipment, which he didn't do. We don't know the customer is done with their work until they call us and say I'm done with the equipment, it can be picked up. Even though he forgot to do this we credited the invoice to what a one day rental would be with applicable fee's, taxes, delivery and pickup on 1/18/22 with a mindset of "the customer is always right". There's no reason for this inquiry, and shouldn't be tarnishing our reputation because he's trying to get something free. The attachments reflect the invoice and credit given. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/05/31) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I completely disagree to that explanation for two reasons. First, l paid everything upfront and the driver who delivered the equipment told me explicitly to lead the equipment in the parking, because it was a weekend they will pick it up most likely on Monday. There were any mention of calling for pick up of the equipment before or after the delivery. Second, they could read the information stored in the equipment to see the last day, time, and how many hours it was used. I am not trying to tarnish anyone business, in the contrary l was the one who received threatening letter and forcing to pay more than what was due.
