The business stalked me while I was running to get lunch and gas. Once I left my car to grab my lunch less than 3 minutes my car was towed. The owner stated I had to bring him cash to retrieve my car. Also the business did not follow the proper Florida state procedures regarding car tow. I had a panic attack because I thought my car was stolen and my life saving medication was in my car.I am looking to get this settled immediately!!!Initial Complaint

On November 29th, 2023, at approximately 8:00 P.M., a vehicle registered in my name was towed in the *************. At the time of the incident, the person in control and custody of my vehicle admitted to mistakenly parking in an unauthorized area and attempted to retrieve the vehicle from this towing company. However, the towing company refused to release the vehicle because the person in control and custody of the vehicle was not the registered owner. In addition, the towing company stated their tow yard was closed for the day and that someone would have to return the next day during regular business hours to retrieve it.The towing company was reminded that night of ******* statute ****** "When a vehicle or vessel has been towed or removed pursuant to this section, it must be released to its owner or person in control or custody within 1 hour after requested. Any vehicle or vessel owner or person in control or custody has the right to inspect the vehicle or vessel before accepting its return, and no release or waiver of any kind which would release the person or firm towing the vehicle or vessel from liability for damages noted by the owner or person in control or custody at the time of the redemption may be required from any vehicle or vessel owner or person in control or custody as a condition of release of the vehicle or vessel to its owner or person in control or custody. A detailed receipt showing the legal name of the company or person towing or removing the vehicle or vessel must be given to the person paying towing or storage charges at the time of payment, whether requested or not.The towing company refused to accept or even review the documentation that the person in control and custody of my vehicle supplied. Had they reviewed the documentation, they would have found that the person in control and custody of the vehicle was legally authorized to be in possession of my vehicle.Initial Complaint

Wrongfully towed my electric vehicle when parked in an electric vehicle spot. The electric charger was not working at the time of tow. Attached are images of the parking sign and proof of electric charger error. Nowhere does it say you can not park here when the charger is not working. I came to the location to attend a meeting on Wednesday, Aug 2nd, at 6:30 pm. There was no parking on the street, so I entered the parking lot of the Pressbox Bar at *************************************************************************** the street from the meeting location without paying attention to the Tow away sign which I can say was not that visible. There were at least ten open parking spots when I parked without any informative signs like "only for customers" or "no parking," etc. The Tesla could record my exit from the car and a man in the parking lot who looked at me departing the lot and immediately phoned someone less than 1 minute after I parked. The tow truck arrived within seconds, and he and the driver hooked up to the tow truck. Both my husband and I received a text message from the Tesla app about a security alarm. My husband had just landed at the airport and watched live as they towed the car away. He remotely honked the horn as they were hooking up; they rushed to move the car before securing it. They stopped in another location a couple of blocks away to secure the car and then took it to their lot. I came out about 5 minutes after I parked to see that the car was gone, and I asked the individual who made the call what happened. He said they towed the car and showed me where to find the number to recover it. He said he was there waiting for his brother to come to have a drink. When confronted by me that he was part of the tow, he said no and sarcastically laughed. I was told that whenever I provide $284 in cash, I can call them to get the car back in an hour or wait until the day after. By "chance," there was a cash machine at the press box bar, and the same guy who did the phone call mentioned it. I took an Uber to the lot location. I am not able to add more characters here. I also need an email to send the videos and the photos. Note:They also have a DBA too late towing and recovery business that I couldn't find them on BBB. Thank you very much for your time and help.
