It is always the goal of Weather Tite Windows to ensure our clients are happy at the completion of their projects. The reason Weather Tite Windows has the great reputation in the marketplace is because we always stand behind our work and if any deficiencies are found we take care of them.
Mr. and *************** purchased the garage windows as part of their first contract with us in 2011. As the warranty states, it does not cover self-installation,abuse, alteration, tampering, improper maintenance, accident negligence or any other cause which is beyond Weather Tite or the manufacturers control.
Mr. and *************** sent in pictures of the broken window and it is very clear that something was thrown at it or hit it. A stress crack would not be this damaging not to mention it was installed 12 years ago and would have probably happened much sooner. See attached pictures of damaged glass. We told the Colons we would get them a price to replace the glass, however they do not wish to pay for this.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: this vendor is not telling the truth and just making up stuff to not honor warranty, windows are defective as you can see in one photo the spacer between panes on a different window have come out of place and as you can see the screen on window is in perfect condition, I did not break this window and i did not cause the second window to displace spacer as you can see, the argon gas pretty sure is gone from there, like to hear what excuse they have for that. just a company acting in bad faith.no wonder they have so many bad reviews, they don't honor warranties.
Sincerely,

Purchased a house in 2021 that had weathertite windows installed in 2014 with lifetime warranty. Noticed the seal on a window no longer held in August 2022. Weathertite told me to file transfer of ownership form which I did. Never heard from them. Called in March 2023 for update. After looking up information, legal department denied claim because legal said homeowner declined warranty. Legal unwilling to provide any information about homeowner declining. Why would a homeowner decline a lifetime warranty? Seems like the company does not want to live up to their robust advertising. I just want my window that has a lifetime warranty replaced. If not, I would certainly not recommend this company to anyone.Business response

Each time being told that delivery is on Friday, I can call back to check again. Installation done in November was incomplete ( screen doors missing) and poorly done. ******** wanted MORE money to order the screen doors and promised deliver by end of ********* ******* Manager agreed to correct install issues - some done, some not. Have been following up regularly, again and again being told that I can call back next week for an update. Ms. Toler’s signed a contract for new windows and sliding doors on February 15, 2022. On the contract it was written that the product is due to us at a minimum of 30 weeks from final measure or change order. The final measure was completed on February 24, 2022, so that would put the windows to us roughly at a minimum of end of September. Ms. made several calls to us in the time period in between in which she was told end of September. Unfortunately, that did not happen, and the windows did get backordered until the middle of October. This was due to a hurricane that impacted many of their employees and affected all lead times. Once the product arrived and was confirmed installation was scheduled for end of October.
Ms. Toler signed her contract not to include screens for her sliding glass doors. At install she told the installers she wanted screens. Her representative reached out to her and got a change order to add these screens to her contract for cost. At that time she was explained it would be ordered but would take several more weeks. In addition, there was several sashes that came from the manufacturer with some issues. These were ordered under her warranty and no additional cost was charged for this. In the meantime, against company policy, the installation manager put up trim around the door to make it look finished as she did not like the way it looked because the screens were not attached yet. We prefer to have all product in hand and schedule service at that time as to not inconvenience the homeowner more than necessary. As we have told Ms. Toler, her screens and sashes are due to us any week from the manufacturer and once they come in we will schedule the service call.
While supply chain issues continue to affect the world, window manufacturers are not exempt to this. We do not make the product and are therefore at the mercy of the manufacturer that supplies it to us. We apologize for the delays,Initial Complaint

this has been an ongoing situation for over 3.5 years. it stated with a contract that both weathertite windows and the finance company( ******** that we have multiple complaints against ) did not fulfill their legal binding written agreements and led us to believe in writing that our payment would be a certain amount, and it was more than the stated contract amount..weathertite windows has been out to our residence multiple times working on same problems over and over. for most part, many have been taken care of ( after 3.5 years) but not main problem. it is still ongoing and has never been fixed.last time weathertite windows was out to our residence to fix ongoing problems, the employee who came out was shown photo proof of some of the windows/frames that were leaking air in and out our home.employee stated i would have to take it up with management which i tried to. on morn of July 11 2022, i called weathertite widows and requested weathertite windows website address or an email address to send weathertite windows a letter. i was advised that weathertite windows did not have a website email address. i found it very odd that a multi million dollar company had no website email address for me to send an email to. i then found an old email between myself and a supervisor at weathertite windows and sent him an email of the situation. we were never contacted again by weathertite windows. at or around that same time, we were sending emails and a written dispute( again) to ********) with a tracking number to greensky. ******** has ignored all of this and started charging us for the balance of the transaction. ******** and weathertite windows work hand in hand to finance work done by weathertite windows. to this day all the windows and or frames leak air. around Christmas 2022 , we had the coldest weather that we have seen in years and years. we again took many photos with a thermal imaging camera, that clearly shows cold air leaking into our home up the frames.Business response

Mr. ******’s product was installed in July of 2019. Since this time of install Mr. has had several complaints with his windows. We have worked with him every time he has called and repaired or replaced anything he has called about. Every time he has stated he will not be paying the finance company for various warranty related issues. We advised Mr. that was not a good idea as that would affect his credit and as he saw we came and repaired any warranty item he had. We worked with the finance company to address all the issues to ensure they are addressed and the finance company stated they felt Mr. was looking for reason not to pay his bill.
Mr. ****** asked that a representative from the manufacturer meet us there so he can show them that the windows are not working and letting in cold air or warm air. The manufacturer as well as a third party inspector from the county have all stated to him that windows are in fact installed properly and doing exactly what they are supposed to do. There are many other factors in a home that affect temperatures not just windows.
We have worked with Mr. ****** but at this point we have completed our contractual obligation and the windows have been installed properly and work properly. We have not heard from Mr. since August of 2022 until this complaint was made.Initial Complaint

Company exhibited poor communication throughout the 13 months process. When they installed the doors and windows, they damaged parts of the home beyond repair. They had to install additional trim pieces to cover up the damage done to floors. This took 2 months to complete. At completion, they added a $750 charge for a mistake they made. Company has an in house measuring team that verified all products. Upon delivery and attempted installation, one of the doors had to be reversed. Company charged me $750 for their measuring error.Company was contacted and informed the charge was invalid and would not be paid. Assurance was given a manager would follow up. Instead of this occurring, company placed a lien on my property. Company didn't send a final bill, request for payment, or any other correspondence. Company didn't provide any proof of payment after initial payment.Business response

Mr. ****** product was installed in Mid-August. At the time of install Mr.was very happy, signed a completion form (which I have attached) and stated the work was excellent and of quality. Unfortunately, we had two pieces of tile that cracked when one of the doors was removed. This happens from time to time as the work we are doing is construction. This was repaired at the time of final service.
************** additionally stated we charged an extra $750 for the door to be reversed. This is simply not true, as we would never charge a customer more than what they have agreed. I have attached the change order (with the completion form above) that Mr. ****** he agreed to, and it was for the addition of a precast sill on one of his openings for $700 not $750. Mr. was asked if he wanted a copy of the change order resent to him when he was speaking with management however, he declined and said he would not be paying the balance. After several attempts to collect the balance due and Mr. ********* a lien was placed on the home as required by law within the timeframe of the work being completed.
Since this complaint was filed, Mr. has paid his balance due, and the lien was removed from his home.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:there are too many errors to count in their response. They were paid, and the lien was removed. That is the end of the accurate information.
I will be sure to inform anyone that asks of not only the poor service, but the blatant false statements of the company and the lien placed on my home, when not bill was ever sent.

We ordered windows for our house. Our current house has grids in the windows, we requested the windows have grids, the *** requires windows with grids in them. It took nearly a year to get the windows. When they arrived the windows didnt have grids in them. They said that is what we ordered. The windows close over $100,000, and we cant install them. They will not give us our money back or install windows with grids in them. We feel this is a mistake on the sales person part. Additionally the windows are not clear. They have a green tint to them that is not appealing.Business response

It is always the goal of Weather Tite Windows to ensure our clients are happy at the completion of their projects. The reason Weather Tite Windows has the great reputation in the marketplace is because we always stand behind our work and if any deficiencies are found we take care of them, and if mistakes are made, we correct them.
In this case ************************, the president of an engineering company that we are certain works with contracts often informed us at the start of his installation that his windows did not have grids in them and he wanted grids. We went over the contract together and it was not requested to have grids. Mr. **** that because he had grids in his current windows, his representative should have known he wanted grids in his new windows. We explained to Mr. that people add or remove grids from existing windows all the time and we can only go by what is written in the contract and it does not state any mention of grids in the new windows. In addition, there is not a tint added to the windows. They have a Low E coating which is what keeps the ** rays out of the windows and helps with energy efficiency. In some points of the day when the sun hits the glass a certain way, it may have a greenish hue to it, but it is by no means an added tint and it is a requirement in order to make the windows energy efficient and permittable.
Since this complaint was filed, Mr. was able to easily obtain HOA approval for the windows with no grids and they have since been installed. There are several items needed to complete the project which have been ordered and Mr. has also signed a new contract for doors for his home as well. We are truly sorry that any misunderstandings occurred but the windows that have been installed look beautiful and we hope that ************************ and his family love them as well.

As Mr. is aware, we do not manufacture the windows and are subject to wait times from the manufacturer. Once the remaining glass arrives we will contact him to get this scheduled.Initial Complaint

Weather Tite installed our Bay Window in 2014. We have called them our multiple times because of leaks. They blame the problem on ** not maintaining the caulking. Talking to contractors, it sounds like the problem is an installation problem. They did not properly seal the windows during installation. They blame the caulk instead.Business response

******************** windows were installed in July of 2014. Six years later in June of 2020 Mr. called to report a leak. We sent our installation manager out and the manager showed ******************** several areas of caulking that needed addressed and touched up. He let him know at that time if he had any additional issues after touching up the caulking to let us know. In July of 2022, another two years later again, Mr. stated there was another leak. We explained to ******************** that he has to help maintain the products as explained to him previously. I have attached a picture to show the condition of the products when we arrived in 2022. Unfortunately, there is not much more we can do if the products are not maintained.

I am rejecting this response because: The people we talked to try to get it professionally caulked/maintained said it was an installation issue. If the gaps in the trim were not over the gaps between the **** bars, the caulk would not be such an issue. We maintain all of our windows the same, and the Weather Tite ones are the only ones that leak. The caulk/maintenance clause in their warranty is just a loop hole to get them out of installation issues as best I can tell. At the very least, people need to be more aware of this requirement, and yearly maintenance was not sold to us. I'm glad we learned about this before we did the upstairs windows.

Mr. ***** windows were originally scheduled to arrive to us from the manufacturer in June. Unfortunately, that did not happen, and the windows did get backordered. Mr. was informed of this at the end of June, again in July, and finally once the windows arrived the installation was set in August.
************ speaks of a window leak release form. We do not have such a form so I am unsure where that is coming from or what that might be. The only form the installers have with them is a hold harmless form (which I have attached). This form is to notify the homeowner that we are happy to help move furniture, take down blinds, or move other personal belongings that *** be in the way of the window installation, however we will not be liable if something should happen to it. We ask the homeowner to remove these things prior to us coming but we do understand some customers are not able to do so, in which case we ask that the form be signed.

I am rejecting this response because:The form that was submitted to BBB from weathertite wasnt the same one that they were pressing me to sign. I said numerous times I dont feel comfortable signing this. The only way they stop pressuring me was when I said let me have it and Ill sign it later. I attached the form that required me to sign. If you look back at my records youll see I call numerous times and even wrote on my work order to have management call me. If I felt comfortable that the job was done 100% I wouldve maybe felt more comfortable signing this. I have pictures of the job done and walked one of the technicians around to show my concerns and he agreed that its not the normal quality work that they do. He said he would let management know about the bad quality work that was done. I purposely hired a premium company and paid the premium price so would have premium results. I feel that I wouldve been better off saving my money and finding someone from *********** The communication from weathertite has been horrible, the scheduling has been horrible, the workmanship is horrible and when I try and contact management to voice my feedback I get nothing. This form to have me sign was the icing on the cake. I want to feel confident I made the right investment when I bought these windows. Having me sign something that to me is saying they dont even stand by their work doesnt sit well. If needed I can attach pictures of the caulking that your technician applied. I hope this is an isolated instance and not a normal business practice.
Sincerely,

Unfortunately, you were given the wrong hold harmless to sign. The hold harmless we attached and should have been handed to you just states that we are happy to take down blinds or move furniture to do the installation, however we are not responsible should anything break or get damaged as that is typically the homeowners responsibility. The caulking hold harmless you were given in error is when we visit a job that is several years old, and caulking has not been maintained or touched. We are sorry you feel like your installation was not to your satisfaction. Our notes in the system do not show any calls from you requesting to speak with management regarding this. We show several calls asking for the expected delivery and if we will discount the job due to the delays. Also noted after installation was a damaged screen and s**** hole covers which are shown as completed since the inspection was passed and the permit was closed out.Customer response

Weather Tite came out in Jan/Feb of 2021 to measure and quote for installing 7 windows in my home (2 of which were bathroom windows.) I was to be financed for the project at the time and put down the required $600 deposit. I was told by the salesman that it would take approximately 6 or 7 months for the windows to be made and arrive at their location in Tampa. In Oct of 2021 they called to tell me that the windows were in. The earliest available install date was in Dec of 2021. Being too close to Christmas, I scheduled the install for Jan of 2022. I refinanced my home in Jan of 2022 and decided to pay for the entire cost of windows and installation instead of being financed which went from $10,000 (finance quote) to $9,000 (paying cash.) I paid the $9,000 balance a week or 2 before the install (my mistake.) When the subs came to install, they said that the biggest and most expensive window, with the arched top, had a crack in one of the panes and that they could either install it then and come and replace the pane when it arrived or take it back to the shop and replace the pane there. I opted for them to replace the pane at the shop. 3 months later in Apr of 2021, they finally got the pane in and replaced it at the shop. When the subs came to install the last window 2 weeks later, they told me that they couldn't install it because the frame was now cracked. I said "ok, take it back to the shop and have someone call me for an ETA on when the new frame would be here." You'd think I'd be a priority at this point, but NO. I had to call them later in the week to find out what was going on with my last window. They said that they'd find out and get back to me. Weeks go by. I call them back. They give me the run-around again. It's now mid Aug of 2022 and I still haven't gotten a definitive answer on when my last, most expensive window will be available to install. When I call and express how upsetting and ridiculous this has gotten, they offer very little understanding.Business response

This was reported to the manufacturer and a replacement frame was ordered immediately. While supply chain issues continue to affect the world, window manufacturers are not exempt to this. Upon presentation and signing of contract WeatherTites salesperson stated that I would never need to be concerned with my Impact resistant windows for they had a lifetime guarantee against defect or glass breakage. This year I requested replacement of a broken window and they told me it was not covered by warranty. I stated the information as above and they refused( fortunately the person/company responsible reimbursed me the $800). I then contacted WeatherTite about a PGT/CGI glass breakage warranty which I was never informed about which they first denied knowing about , then said I never registered my windows with PGT and could not get this program. Being that the company never offered the program, the salesperson lied to me and WeatherTite never registered my window or informed me to do so I am quite upset with their approach to my issue, which has been to not respond to emails or phone messages. I contacted Judy, have been polite and courteous never raised my voice or made any type of negative comments. They have been non responsive. An additional issue came to light recently with my door hinges on two Hurricane exterior door I purchased from them and had installed. Again the messaging was a Lifetime warranty, The six hinges and hing pins have rusted and I requested that they be replaced with marine grade hinges that do not rust, same result. Now a very simple solution would be for Judy,Mike and WeatherTite to purchase the extended glass breakage warranty for me or we could amicably agree to share the cost but they do not even want to discuss anything. The hinges Judy could have called Intertek the manufacturer of the doors and attempted an inspection , rust removal or replacement with marine hinges and screws. No attempt was or has been attempted. Have I consulted a lawyer, No. Have I gone on social media and expressed my feeling, No. Have I called the TV station ,No! I have remained civil and attempted a resolution. Now I need you.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2022/08/18) */ It is always the goal of Weather Tite Windows to ensure our clients are happy. The reason Weather Tite Windows has the great reputation in the marketplace is because we always stand behind our work and if any deficiencies are found we take care of them. Mr. ****** purchased windows from us in 2016. After a few weeks of negotiating price, a contract was signed. Mr. ****** did not purchase the additional accidental glass breakage warranty from the manufacturer at that time. As we explained to Mr. ****** it is unfortunately not something we can purchase for his windows from the manufacturer six years later. Mr. ****** does have a warranty on his glass for manufacturing defects, however negligence by the lawn company is not something that is covered. Mr. ****** has also stated that his door hinges have rusted over time. We have offered to schedule a service to replace them with new hinges approved by the manufacturer. I understand Mr. ****** would like marine grade hinges, however that is not how the door was certified or tested by the manufacturer. The manufacturers spend millions of dollars to certify their products for the Florida Product Approvals for the Miami Dade certification, and by changing any components of how the product is tested, would not only compromise the structural integrity of the product, but it would also void the warranty with the manufacturer. We have explained this to Mr. ****** and again, would be happy to replace the hinges with the approved hinges that are not marine grade. We apologize to Mr. ****** for any frustrations this has caused him. We have serviced his product for the past 6 years under his warranty and will continue to do so. Consumer Response /* (3000, 11, 2022/08/19) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I was never offered the glass breakage warranty when the contract was negotiated and signed, had I been offered the warranty knowing that glass breakage was not included I would have accepted the offer. As of this date 6 years later I still have not been offered this opportunity to purchase and yes if offered I would accept and purchase. If Weather Tite can show me a refusal of the offer I would accept that I was mistaken. I stand by the statement that it was never offered because the salesman Told me glass breakage was covered. Does Weather Tite wish to offer it at this time ?
