Insurance agent failed to complete necessary tasks for policy renewal. They have lied to cover their tracks, been asked multiple times ri get things fine, said they completed tasks but they did not. We are now facing a hurricane that will likely take out our home completely and will not be covered, simply because Roberts has dropped the ball on this. Our homeowners insurance has filed a complaint against this agent in another venue because its gotten so bad.Business response

I see that Citizens Insurance is non-renewing (Effective 12/29/2024) the policy due to proof of repairs still needed. We submitted the bank statements and photos the insured provided us, and here is the message we received from Citizens on 10/9/2024:
We have received the request to reinstate; However,upon further review of all the information, we are not able to reinstate the policy.
Reason(s):
Acceptable documentation has not been provided to confirm that the hazard(s), specified in the cancellation notice, has been eliminated.
A review of the proof of repairs submitted to date indicates it is incomplete and not acceptable.
Underwriting requires the paid in full contractor invoice indicating the work that has been completed, as well as extensive photos of all interior rooms and the exterior, all elevations, and including photos of repairs to the balcony railing and decking.
Unfortunately, Citizens works on their own time frame for review of documentation submitted. Therefore,once we submit the documents, we have to wait on Citizens to review the information for acceptability. Your current Citizens policy is in effect until 12/29/2024, therefore we can report a claim from ****** if needed since the non-renewal is 12/29/2024.
